Flatspin

I want to know how to do one. I want to learn them on the trampoline first, and then maybe try some on the hill next year.

Harder or easier than cork?

Flat spin is a non-inverted rodeo. You just lay out a rodeo more sideways. Its like doing a lincoln on a different axis.

its a backie-ish rotation (how you throw it)...throw a backie so that after you pop, you will be parallel to the ground, then just keep looking at the groudn and it will come around. look at some vida and go practice, really low consequence

at 180, you want to have your back flat (paralell ground). so at 180 you should be able to look through your legs at the lip of the jump. get yourself into and out of that position and you'll be doing a flat spin

i just tryed on a tramp, its pretty hard.

I kept landing on my back, i just couldent get to my feet

Maybe i was doing it wrong?

if you can rodeo, you can flat spin, just instead of having your chestfacing the sky like on a rodeo, dont go as inverted and make your chest more of a horixzonatal angle

yeah i'm having trouble with these on snow, not so much in the pipe, but on tables, i always go into more of a weirdo cork misty type thing, i need some insight on this.

From what I've seen and attempted (water, not snow), flats are set almost the exact way as rodeo's are. The flat rotation is accomplished by popping and setting your backwards rotation that normally adds the invert component to your rodeo into more of a side flip. Basically, it feels like your ditching all that 'rotate back' energy to the side. I you get it going right, about .005 sec after takeoff, your should have your skis at 90, body coming close to 90 as in a lincoln loop. It might be easier to imagine this position and just try to make your body look like that right after takeoff, the rest of the rotation will follow.

probably the easyest flip other than a backflip. all i do is huck like a lincon but try to look over my sholder. thats how i throw em on the tramp and snow
