Ghost/Scary Experiences Thread

Now that it's summer and we're all bored, we need a thread about scary things and going out and exploring the haunted places in your town. Feel free to add pics and videos. I'll start with a story, it's not really scary but kinda interesting.

After buying some fireworks we decided to go explore this church that was burned down by some crazy dude years ago. It's a wierd place, there's like an old abandoned house by it and then the old ruined church, it's like in the middle of a forest. People say that a big stone cross was dragged out of the church and is just sitting in a clearing, we couldn't find it.
When we were getting out of our car to start walking up the trail to the church, and we saw a car coming down the road, so we hid in the trees around the dirt clearing. It turns out it was some gay mexican kid and his friends doing the same thing we were, hah it was funny we scared the shit out of them. On the way to the church we came to a wierd place with 3 cars that were totally trashed. We finally found the church. It was a stone building and one wall was collapsed allowing us to see most of the church from the outside.
A girl we were with took pictures with her camera and it was soo creepy, a few of her pictures had those orb things in it, and one we looked at later had a creepy ass face just sitting in the dark.
There was a ditch going around part of the back of the church like someone dug it out, and it went underneath the building, into like some kind catacomb, my friend was standing inside the ditch looking into it and he said something grabbed him, and we took off, I don't know if I believe him but it scared me.
Hahah, and one of my buddies told me a story when he went there with his girl one time and he said some demon or some shit jumped across the path, and scared the shit out of him. He took off without his girl(she chased him) and he ate shit and got dirt in his mouth, he felt so bad for leaving her, but he said he was so scared, he admits it could have just been a deer. But it's so funny he ran off with out her and ate it.

Our house is about 100 years old, and just before we moved in the past owners gave us a little history lesson. A family used to live in my house before WW1, and they had a 17 year old daughter who was a prodigy pianist. There was an accident involving the fireplace in the front room, and the girl's hands got mangled.

Her hands were so badly burned that she could no longer play the piano, so a few months after the accident, she commited suicide in the front room by hanging herself off the chandelier. The people who lived in the house before us had a piano in the front room, and every now and then they'd hear someone violently bashing the piano in frustration. The music on the piano would also be thrown around the room.

They came to the conclusion that it was the frustrated spirit of the young girl, and the icing on the cake of this haunting was the last thing that they told us, 'Whenever you hear her playing the piano, clap.' Just to be safe, we've always clapped.

this isnt my story, but ive heard it many times from my friend which it happened to,..

he lives on a coldisack, with one other house right next to his. the house is unreal, one of those huge houses with a long ass driveway. the people that live there, are actually nice people, and my friend's family and that family are pretty good friends. the family decides to go on vacation, and they ask my friends family to watch their cat while they are gone for a week, no biggy maybe feed the cat check to see if everything is alright. pretty ordinary, right? well, think again. everything was going fine until a few days after they left, my friend got a phone call. when they answered, their neighbor sounded scared and confused. when my friends mom asked what was wrong, she sayd "linda(my friends mom), i just got a phone call to my cell....that came from my house number." "can u go check my house right now and see if u can find anything unusual?" at this point my friend and his mom are thinking "find something unusual? are you fucking kidding me you just got a call from your own house and u want us to go check it to see if we find somthing unusual?" well, either my friend and his mom are some good friends are some psyko idiots man. my friends mom makes him go with her up the creepy, long drive and into the huge house to find something"unusual". he took a bat with him becuase, shit, why would he take a bat with him this is some fucked up shit. so, he told me he went into the house and right as we walked in, he noticed they had one of those staircases from those horror movies that are like a balcony/hall at the top wtih just like straight stairs coming down. well, he and his mom looked around the house a little while, and then he opened up the fridge and ate some grapes.

turns out they never found out why they got a phonecall, or how they got a phonecall, but thats some messed up shit. oh, at first i didnt believe him just becuase he told me that lame as ending, but i talked to his mom about it one time and the whole thing is true. sick shiiiiiiit

those are actually my friends. But the stalagmites were created ffrom a broken water pipe and it was during winter in the pic.

i was backpacking last weekend and we found a lean to in the woods. it looked like someone had lived in it a long time- like it had a padded bench and fireplace and tarps to keep the snow/rain out and it was creepy as hell. the trees looked like they had been cut down with a chainsaw which is illegal in the national wilderness and there were torn up paper everywhere and one was a newspaper ad from like 2 weeks ago. so we were freaked out. that night when we were in our tents we were talking about it and thought whoever it was living there might come find us and kill us for finding his lean-to. then we heard a chainsaw start. it was so sketch.

that is a haunted doll that i believe is somewhere in Alcatraz. I saw some history chanel thing on him. I think his name is Paul or something.

wayy back when i was in like 6th/7th grade i was at my friends house with another friend and their 2 moms were really good friends so she slept over and at like 3 AM they asked us if i wanted to "awaken the dead" so we went outside (and this was a fucking huggee ass house with mad woods all around it) so we built a bonfire, put up candles and rocks, and used a ouija board and we would like ask questions and the thing that scrolls over the letters moved all by itself, it was so fucked up

yeah... but arent some of those shows fake? not the ones that talk about haunted places, but the ones that have people taping themselves. those always seemed fake and cheesy to me. the ones that talk about real shit are sick though

not scary but pretty cool. after my grandpa pasted the light would turn on in his room for a while and the just go off and nobody had gone near the room. also whenever something good happens in our family our door bell rings but it rings a ring that you can't change it too(there is noway to make the door bell ring this tune), and my dad was at like rona getting some stuff to fixup my grandmas house and he went down the isle with the door beels (no one else was around) and a door bell started ringing the same ring that ours rings.

i have seen a shadow ghost before. we are at my fiences house and getting ready to go to bed. Jess my fience is in and out of sleeping and opens her eyes every once in a while. well she does this one time and thinks she sees an outline of her dad comming in to kiss her good night. the shadow appears at the door for 10 secs and then starts to move in the room. she notices that the shadow is jsut flooting......it gets closer and closer until it is 2 feet from the bed and just hovering there looking at us. i am asleep at this time and feel her nudge me to wake me up. when i wake up i look over and see an outline as well. she says that is not my dad (he comes in everynow and again like i said to say goodnight) so i start to get freaked out and then the shadow start the elevate and hover above out bed. we really start the get fucking scare by now and my heart is pumping.....i try and reach for the light to turn it on.....reaching.......reaching and then finally it clicks on and there is nothing there. Whatever it was it freaked the fuck out of us and we both felt that there was a "presents" in the room......craziest 2 min of my life

I had to run to get my morning poptart.... now my turn for my scary experience

So we used to have this nanny from mexico live in our house. she was really chill and everyone loved her, hre name was lucia. So me and Lucia are in the house today alone and shes cooking upstairs and im in my room which at the time was right above the garage so I knew when i opened better then anyone. Im sitting watching whatever on TV when I hear and feel it open. Im like okay cool moms home. I dont bother getting up. Well im siiting there for another like half an hour and realize oh lets go say hi to mom. I get up and shes not in the house. Im like wtf. Lucia comes over to me and was like Jamie did you open the garage. Im like no....I was in my room. We both go in the garage and the door is closed. Scared the shit out of the rest of us for the day

when i was working in my local ski shop i was always told to go into the bacment for stuff like skis poles coat hangers general soppy stuff well bascly i was going down to get something usually i dont give a shit because it was fun going down there and it was a bit of a skive,well basically im on the back wall sortin the hire skis its kinda dark and all i had was a kinda head torch i was changing a light bulb at the time to and basically when i turned the light on this shadow just stayed on the wall finking nothing about as you would i continued to sort the skis basically just before i was turning round to sort the skis the shadow begins to move and creeps down the wall the room gose hela cold and the shadow diapers into theground like down into the floor boards i basically crapped my self came runing out and dident no what to make of it so i ask my manager if there was anthin up with the shop, turns out there was a female gost that lives in the shop, seemingly the shop used to be some kind of church hall or something and when the ski shop was put in there was bones found in the floor boards, basically for the rest of the time working there i was always asking my manger about it because hed just get so annoyed when id as abot it he was saying that when he comes down in the night to do paper work he sometimes finds shit thas been like pushed of railings and shit and its the bit thats above the besmment where i saw the gost, hed sometimes get realy angry and snap and basically say " look calum your not the one who is hear at one in the morning on your own so dont tok about it because i dont want to piss it of"

Well there is this house in the town right next to me (Viewmont) and it's nicknamed the Viewmont house. Anyway I don't know much about the background of the house but I know enough.

The house is like 150 years old and the first family that lived there was murdered (mother father and infant child). Since then the no one has lived there but the house has caughten on fire 3 times. So imagine a house thats burned everywhere and the cops have boarded all the windows and doors so no one could get in. The only way to get in the house is through a tunnel that you have to crawl through on your hands and knees thats about 30 feet long. These details are on account from my friends. Once they got in they start exploring. And see everything is burned and hear a bunch of crap creaking and stuff. And when you go into the kitchen a lot of the floorboards are missing and you can easily fall through to the basement. So my friends go and check the basement and there are smashed bottles everywhere and blood written on the walls. They finally trek upstairs and are exploring the rooms scared as hell when they finally get to this room. They walk into the room and EVERYTHING is as clean as a whistle with no burn marks or floorboard missing and there is just a cradle sitting in the middle of the room untouched with a rocking chair right next to it. They all just bailed as fast as they could out of the house after that.

there was another time when me and my mate were walking home it was a really cold night and it was about 10 oclock for some reason we were toking about deth i dont have a clue whi but that was the topic of conversation, when we got to the bottom of my street this orb of white light about the size of a basket ball kinda lit up infront of us and shot across for about 8 meters about the hight or a lamp post, so i was shaking my mates arm in like disbelief thinking holy shit im i seeing right he just looks up to see the light shoot across another two meters then disappears into nothingness

My story involves an insane asylum.

When I was a sophmore in university at UWO in London, Ontario, some friends and I went to this old shut down asylum. It was 5 years ago now and I filmed everything. Basically, we had to break in through a basement window to get in (tore my new Burton jacket...fuck). We just explored as it got dark outside. We found alot of creepy shit in the basement...glass plates with blood samples...boxes and boxes. Anyways, first thing we did was make it to the top floor. It was all nasty inside...like musty and all the ceilings were on the floor and everything was just falling apart. So we get to the top floor and we have to be careful not to shine our flashlights out the windows because this place is on a main road. Of course, we reached our goal of the top floor and rewarded ourselves with some fine hand-rolled greenery. Things istantly get creepier after this obviously.

So now we've been here for long enough and want to leave. This place is huge and now it's really dark. We start finding alot more creepy stuff. Tiny rooms with huge, thick doors with tiny windows (like 2 inches by 2 inches). We start hearing noises and we are totally lost. On the video tape you can just hear all of us starting the flip out (and there was alot of us...like 9 people). Anyways, we eventually found our way out, ran to our cars and booked it.

They ended up tearing it down a short while after. It was definately scary at the time and we found alot of weird stuff...but now I'm just glad I have a video of me and some friends completely losing it.

When i was going into 9th grade way back in the day my family took a trip to london but on the way there we stopped in bath or bathe i dont know how its spelled but anyways... we got to the hotel and my dad mom and myself were all unpackin and my sister went into the bathroom and the all of a suddon she fell the the ground crying screaming "there is a man in the bathroom, theres a man in the bathroom" so my dad gets up and runs over and looks and says theres no one there! She then goes yes there was he was wearing a black suit with a black top hat and he was staring right at me with a mean look on his face... she was going to be a 6th grader... skeeeeeeeetch balls

there's a really nice restaurant in town called the Bedford Village Inn that's located in an old barn and farmhouse. when i say old, i say at least civil war era. it's supposedly haunted, i've only heard a fews stories about it. being an old wooden building, some things aren't in the best shape. particularly, it's nearly impossible to open the windows. the owner of the restaurant was sitting in his office, when a co-worker needed him for something, so he left. when he returned to his office, every single window was wide open.
another story my friend actually told me. he was a bus boy there for about a year. in one of the special reserved dining rooms, he began setting the table. when he was done, he left. when he came back less than a minute later, everything he had set on the table was on the floor. but not just knocked on the floor, perfectly set on the floor behind the chairs they were previously set in front of on the table.
