Cracking down on downloading

I dunno if a topic like this has been posted, but ahh well. I have been watchin the news the past few days and they keep bringin up that they are seriously going to crack down on high downloaders and extreme file sharers. What do you guys think aout this? Do you think it is really that serious now? I share over 3,000 MP3's, which is a good amount, and now I am a little skeptical about it now, especially cause one of my friends got busted up at school and got a ridiculous fine..
What do you guys think?

^ If they catch you with over 100 songs, they come into your house, tie up your whole family, slit your parents throats, stomp on your younger siblings head, piss on their bodies, then light the house on fire with you inside. And the whole time some guy sits in the back and beats off to it.

It's bullshit. If 'downloading a file is the same as walking in to a store and stealing a CD', as people are always saying, then why should a person with 10,000 files be treated differently to someone with 1? If they are serious about this then they should have a zero-tolerance policy.

well 10000 would be different than one if they put a value on each song, maybe like 50 cents then the person with 10000 would have an amount of songs stolen money wise for it to be a felony where only one song would just be a misdemeanor
