Wow two years

yes im a mormon and im going on a misson to madagascar and i cant ski for two years this is lame all my friends and kids i ride with are blowin up and im like a year off a break through year i mean i learned all 4 5s and ive got 3 7s and well im just feeling like im dieing instead of just leaving i dont know thats it basically im just bitchin

He's bitching about the lack of skiing, not his religion. Noone has the right to say anything about his choices in life simply because they don't agree with you. He could be going on Xenu camp but as long as that is his true belief, noone has the right to take that away from him.

uhh idk if i would say next year is gunna be the year your "blow up" your good dont get me wrong but not "blowing up" good.  Do what you really want to do, if you wanna ski then ski, if you wanna convert madigascarians then go for it

Um, why dont you do missionary work where there is snow and you can still ski?  If you are really good and think youll be a lot better, I would def not go to madagascar.  Dont do something youll regret for the rest of your life.  you can do missionary work other places.

Ski Buddy. Not because your going to "Blow Up" and have a "Breakthrough Year", but because it's fun. If your going on a mission you must be 18-20 years old, right? If we haven't seen or heard anything from you yet then it’s too late. Unless you all of the sudden get naturally talented and learn super complex tricks quickly. Like Colby West did. My take is you grew up in SLC and have been skiing for a long time and if you haven't got it yet then your way behind the big dogs in the park. Anyways you shouldn’t look at skiing that way. I know your religion programs you but try to not take the same approach with your skiing.

hey I was raised mormon, can't say I plan on going on a mission though I just don't believe in it. That being said though if the church is important to you and you have strong faith and feel like you should go, then do it. If you truly do think you have a future in skiing though you could always wait until you're old and married and go on a couples mission

you idiot, it was sarcasm. regardless, you disagree with the practices of mormons, but then unknowingly prove my point: this brazil trip is the same exact thing as mormons do but masquerades as 'missionary' work.

Two years is a long time... but you should be stoked to spend time experiencing (hopefully not invading or imposing upon) a new culture in a pretty badass place that you might not otherwise get a chance to travel.

No offense... but you're not on your way to "blow up" if you just learned all 4 5's... that's sick and all... I can't spin SwRight for shit... but don't feel like you're missing out on anything except fun days on the snow with your friends... which, trust me, I know can be a hard thing to do without!

Bring a skate deck or two (depending on where you’ll be… it’s not all lemurs and jungle)

Meet new interesting people.

Learn a new language.

Check out the BADASS wildlife that exists nowhere else in the world...

Learn something about photography and take some sick travel pictures.

Bring a stack of ski mags (not only will they get you through your pow/park-less time but people who haven’t seen skiing won’t understand unless you show them pictures… they probably still won’t totally get it.. but they’ll be interested)… have your mom send you all the videos next fall… and go do something sick that you’ll always regret missing if you don’t!

Just my thoughts...

i just want to say, if you don't want to go, then don't go. My friend left on a mormon mission to guatemala for two years, and when he came back, he was completely different person, never talk to him anymore. So be careful, its a big decision.

I doubt that your going to blow up. Good kids at PC come a dime a dozen. All 4 5's isn't gonna get you very far either. try more like all 4 9's. So by blow up you mean you would probably just end up on someone's flow team. and you're 18, probably too old to make skiing a life career. hate to tell it how it is, but that is how it is.

HOWEVER, my roommate this year was a mormon. And he made me absolutely hate the mormon religion. I mean seriously, don't you guys have anything about NOT imposing your religion on other people? So because if that, I think that you should ski and do missions when you are older. Two years is a long time out of your life that you won't get back.

So if decide to ski, ski for fun, but to "blow up" is gonna be really hard.

If you go to the land of the talking animals, I suggest you wear a helmet when you ride your bicycle.
