what they have released so far it seems good, but not revolutionary, now I know they haven't released a lot of stuff (just so Microsoft couldn't slip anything into vista last minute) and we should hear more at WWDC when the first beta comes out... spaces doesn't really interest me, time machine is cool but I back up anyways so it will just make it easier, and i don't want to block my porn, so I am not super excited about anything yet...
Ok, got a few questions.
I'm a Windows user looking to switch, I'll be getting a Macbook for school this fall, and I really want Leopard, but I don't want to wait until Oct. to get my computer, and I'm worried if I get Leopard right when it comes out, it might have some bugs (i.e. - Vista).
How is Apple about having things all together at launch time? Any history of having an OS have issues? Also, if anyone works in a Mac store or has experience with them, what are the odds, if I go in there this summer and go all out on a Macbook, that they'll hook me up with a free upgrade to Leopard when it comes out?
"Nothing is impossible. You are only limited by fear and even that you can overcome."
spaces is decent
on my mac i use virtue desktop which is the exact same thing except avaliable for tiger. it gets anoying and if you havee that many apps running in 4 different desktops best hope you have more than a gig of ram
yeah no kidding, I think spaces is stupid, the only thing i could ever see it being used for is if you work in an office and need a game/fuck around desktop and a work desktop, so you can switch when your boss is watching, other then that who needs it?
I use it a lot for programming work. I'll have all my programming shit on one desktop and all my web browser / IM shit on another. Its helpful cause it keeps 50 IM windows from cluttering up my homework. I'm excited for spaces because its going to be integrated into the operating system so it won't be as buggy as current solutions and it will work so much better.
thats wat they said ;), but rumor has it, they were going to launch it due to pressure from windows vista(they wanted to stay competitive) but the OS wasn't totally ready... BUT once they saw windows vista, they realized, "wow this thing is a piece of shit, were in no rush!" and delayed the launch to work out any more kinks and add a few more cool things
well its obviously speculation(seeing as they would never announce that).. there excuse was "we need to borrow engineers from OSX for the iphone" which is bullshit, apple has PLENTY of engineers, and engineers who focus on OSX wouldn't be working on the iphone anyways... it was just an excuse(read any articles on the situation and the experts agree that excuse was bullshit)... so the story I referred to was just speculation... and it would make sense... and new nanos and new videos on the 5th apparently
its speculation, but both the ipod video and ipod nano are WAY overdue for an update, we know this conference is ipod related... so everyone is guessing its going to be both... rumors are lending towards a "stubby nano" and a full touch screen ipod video, but who really knows?
