Scratch Sprayer BC?

I have had my eye on this ski for a while, and now, its only going to cost me 215$ CAD to aquire. This is the 05/06 model, the all black one. I already have Ar6's for park, so this would be my all mtn/pow ski. Ill be mounting with px12's. Im just torn between the 2 lengths. 182 or 176. I'm about 5'8, and 150 lbs. Not a super aggressive skier, and I will be mounting either true centre or 2 cm forward of true. I ski lots swtich. the dimensions are 120-88-113.

That aside, has anyone ridden these? Ive checked the review section, but minimal help there, and ive searched as well, again, little help. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

i would get the 181 and mount true. since ur park skis r the ar6s in 176 i would go longer for my pow/allmtn skis. my quiver is scratch fs in 174 mounted true center for park, and brigade bc's in 178 mounted -2

indeed. Ive never ridden a ski back of centre, and ive ridden my t-halls +1. Switch in pow. yes.

Yeah you guys need to take your park rat heads off and realise that centre mounted skis suck for normal skiing about. They dive in powder and hold no edge when the going gets tough.
Also, its a great deal you have on the skis, but they are not that much wider than your AR6 and still quite soft.
Id say 182 if they're your pow skis. And if you insist on having them centre mounted the longer length is a must.

if ur looking at these for pow/all mountain i would not recomend them. i had them and they skied more like a park ski but if u have your heart set on them get the 182. ur much better off getting the regular scratch BC. you can probably find them pretty cheap on ebay especailly if u get the 05-06 model

hey, I am not trying to burst your bubble, but why would you get a ski that is only 3 mm different in the waist and has a somewhat similar flex pattern?

I know, i know. Mainly, Im getting these really cheap, and ive wanted a plain black topsheet for a while now. Seems like a good deal. Im not really big, and i dont want a 90mm waist either. However, im open to suggestions.

If you don't want to go 90 mm or higher in the waist then just stick with the AR6 for everything.  It makes no sense to go up 2mm in the waist.   If you are willing to go bigger I would suggest 05-06 Scratch BC 178 - 98mm waist, very versatile, and an all black topsheet if that is really important to you.  Another possibility is the 175 ARV.

The Sprayer BC is identical to the older Scratch BC I believe. I happen to have those Scratch BC's. This was my thrid season on them and they're 176 and I'm well, 6'2. Luckily I had other skis too. But anyways. Me, skiing on the 176 I was scared for my life at times this past season, ( they did great two years ago when I was smaller, but the length was killing me last season) My opinion would be that if you feel your a powerful enough skier then go 181 or whatever and mount something like -2 from modern. I wouldn't recommend going centre for your all-mountain ski. And if not, go for the 176. It'll still hold you and be manueverable. You're from Ontario, you don't get very many  wide open powder bowls. You'd be fine on either size. All up to you.

Yep, we get the occasional powder day, and they are some old open mining pits that are amazing to ski, but thats about it. Really, im not willing to drop a ton of cash on a powder ski because we dont get lots. Pretty much, i just want a wider ski to dick around on.

i dont mean to ruin your fun but you could get the regular this years bc 178 for maybe 375...thats what i spent on mine brand new. also that way there will be a really difference and beleive me that fatter waist is really nice. i actually wish i had something fatter a decent amount of the time. Once you go fat you never go back!
