just as the title says, are there any other materials other than turf or outdoor carpeting that work well for in-runs? some people say that the turf didn't work too well for them, and i dont want to buy a huge load and have it not work. also. i do not have any free wood or anything, so i dont want to take time and money to be a 5 foot drop in for a small rail that i have. i have a small hill that will work, but all i know of is turf, carpet, snowfence (would'nt your skis get caught?) and snow. which i dont want to 3 trips to the icerink...

ive put down tarp before at the landing off the rail. but when i did that i put some water on it and it worked alright. but it gets cut up pretty fast. i use carpet for my inrun and just wet it down with soapy water. that works alright. i wouldnt mind trying that fence idea this summer though
