thats a good thought. someone should step into it. the industry is super small in that area. it is accutally really aggravating. I want something like this more in the summer opposed to the winter for sure.

i think maybe cuz the ski magazine industry ppl think that most skiers are focusing on their "summer" sport. for instance, winter season i focus on skiing, in summer i focus on volleyball and fall i focus on lacrosse. i think it just has to do w/ w.e season it is.

hit the nail on the fucking head. most people that ski aren't hardcore enough to breathe it during the summer. even though they might be weekend warriors in the winter they have their minds in other places during the summer. Even here, i've never been here in the summer but in the thread in site discussion for changes that are going to take place during the summer doug said of people won't be posting here in the summe that post in the winter. I won't be posting much in the summer but then again i'm working at a summer camp.

I would love to see a summer ski mag called "Backyard Skier". I'd buy it.

There's a new all ski 'zine coming out this summer, it's called Autumn Garage - hopefully it will be good. I know it's more like a skate 'zine rather than a full on magazine like Powder.
We'll see.

Because publishing is expensive and the returns aren't high enough to justify the costs. That's why.

it would be nice to have magazines is the summer. it would be a reminder of winter...lol. and it could have stuff in it about what { idk what u call them}, skiiers like jp auclair and tj schiller and those people do during the summer. unless everyone already knows that.

Actually not exactly. The reason is that mags live on the advertising from brands, not on the money that you pay for it. Companies that advertise in skimags want to put ads specially in the beggining of the season, when people make their buying decisions. In the end of the season or in the summer, people don't buy stuff, so they don't put ads, so the mags don't get enough money to publish an issue.
