Your adds suck. A winter park in the summer? What the fuck does that even mean? You guys have reversed the seasons on the area that just covers the COC park? Hmm...pretty sure that snow conditions on the glacier are the same everywhere. But, yeah definitely, instead of warm soft snow to learn new tricks on throw me up some of that good ol' ice and shit.
By winter quality I don't think they mean snow conditions.... I think they are talking about features..... and in that case, they kill it. There aren't many other summer parks in the Northern Hemisphere with jumps with as much flow/size as them. High North looks sick but not many hits in a row. Windells is the same.
I never said their park wasn't dope, because it's rad for sure and it would be super fun to sesh. I just kept on seeing their ads and thinking how dumb they were.
Appreciate the feedback. Basically what we're saying is that the park has as many features as winter parks that are the same quality that you get in the winter. For a long time, summer parks were okay, but sucked in quality compared to winter parks.
So we hired a professional park builder to build our park in the summer. Steve Petrie works all year building parks around the globe for resorts and events. Our pipe last summer was the best pipe I have ever ridden. Perfect shape, soft but still fast.
I don't get why you think it's a bad ad. Anyone who isn't a retard knows that by "Winter Quality Park" they mean lots of jibs, good flow, big size. How is it so hard? And don't they have an ad like "So you didn't have a good winter season? Come here in the summer?"
I think it's a decent ad, and I bet it made a bunch of kids on this site go to their parents and say "Mom, my winter sucked.... can I go to camp this summer?"
Well the old park builder was paid for the work, but it wasn't his profession, just his summer gig.
The same goes with all the other camps in Whistler. The park crews get hired, but not always because they do the same in the winter or that they have related experience. A lot of camps hire up and coming skiers as diggers and it is those diggers that work up to becoming the head builder at their camp.
Take Momentum Ski Camp for example. For years they had Mike Douglas as their heard park guy and Mike was a pro skier. He did an amazing job as does Trennon, but they're not professional park builders. That was/is just their summer gig.
At COC the park builder and diggers all build terrain parks as their profession. Steve Petrie owns Arena Snowparks and the diggers are from the park crew at Whistler Blackcomb or work for Arena in the winter.
