I'm thinking about going out to Colorado Mountain College, the steamboat one. It's not a very good school, but the town and skiing are great.

I went there for a time. Good for getting gen eds out of the way. I took night classes and hit every fresh day. Quite a few years ago tho...not sure on now..
MCLA in North Adams is 40 mins to Mt Snow and 25 to Jiminy..:/

Here's what you should do....
Go to CMC, get all your gen ed bullshit out of the way....
once you're done with that, transfer to either CU, or UofU, or CSU (depending on field of study, and how good of an education you're going for....
make sure when you're doing the gen eds to check out the college you're going to transfer to in advance to make sure you're fulfilling the right pre-requs and such...

If you go to any college in the Lower Mainland (Vancouver) then a season pass costs $250, no limitations.

No no no no no.
Do NOT go to college to ski.
Go skiing to ski. Move somewhere that has a mountain for a year or two. Live at home, get a job, and ski on weekends. Don't waste tuition, rent or mortgage, and all that shit, on skiing. Just go fucking ski. Shit.

UNR.
utah has amazing skiing... but it's utah.
tahoe has amazing skiing. and reno's a 24 hour town.
if you like the nightlife, reno. if you're just down to go to classes, ski, and deal with the mo's, go to utah.
colorado is pretty sick too though.. but i grew up skiing in tahoe so that's what i'm all about. alpine meadows baby.
not to mention, slc is only a 7 hour drive from reno.

I don't know if you can study in Canada but if so why don't you check out the University of British Columbia? It is in Vancouver and they have a lodge in Whistler. I know some people that go there. If you need more info you can e-mail me from the Alltracks Academy site.

Go to UNR, better school than Utah. CU is the best though, I got in, but out of state tuition is just too fucking expensive. UNR has this sick deal where the northern california counties pay like only 1,000 over instate on the good neighbor policy.

Pretty Much
If youre about the skiing, youve got it all wrong. What would you rather be- a college student who skis in his spare time or a skier that goes to college in his spare time? Find a cheap ass junior college to take classes during the summer and fall- maybe night classes in the winter- and ski whenever you want. just convince your parents that this will be a better use of their money since you wont be tempted to blow off school for the pow pow. My first two years of college I had a full time schedule, worked 30-40 hours a week, and still had 5 days a week to ski.
