of course its their choice to be gay. People arent born with it. they have a problem, and they need to figure out how to correct it. Im not a homophobe, but i dont support gays and I think its completely wrong.
Being gay isnt natural..its a sickness that people have. Get over it and act the way you are supposed to.

i believe its a choice. were you born to like skiing? no, well i wasnt i had to be introduced. if being gays is somethin your born with, all your choices will be made before you are born. than isnt true though for many reasons. take this into consideration, ppl in born in the ghetto and innercity people grow up around drugs and gangs (im not bein stereotype man) they will be more likely to join a gang then say a prep in the suburbs that is rich. and ppl born in p-town will grow up and be butt pirates.

People don't join gangs just because they grow up around them. People in the inner city have a poor amount of educational resources that doesn't allow many to accumulate the skills as easily to navigate the mainstream economy. Industrial jobs have moved overseas and out of the city since the 60's. The main source of inner-city income was through blue collar jobs such as these. Also when the country strayed from Johnson's liberal work programs to Regan's system, the struggle further perpetuated. People don't join gangs because they grow up around them, it's more of a coincidence. They join gangs for the economic opportunities and protection. Now I may sound like a liberal here, but I'm actually a conservative. I see better ways of dealing with these problems than through socialized methods.

Now I can get to my point. There has been a lot of hype over the last year of people in gay relationships raising children. And as a matter of fact a lot of these children are straight. I had two friends in highschool, one a guy, and one a girl, both with a set of lesbian parents, and they were straight as can be.

Please tell me how your environment induces people being gay. How can you explain the vast amount of people who grow up in middle class homes with heterosexual parents, siblings who are also hetero, but they themselves are gay.

Also please tell me when you DECIDED you were straight. I can't remember when I decided I was, I've always liked da boobie.

I know you weren't talking about that, I was linking your statement to the proximity of gangs affecting the joining of gangs versus the proximity of gay people effecting people being gay. And my point was this isn't correct thinking.

Homosexuality is NOT a choice, its a chemical disbalance. Homosexuals are attracted to the pheromones of same sexes, because there was a certain hormone released, caused by a mutated gene, i believe on c'some 19. Sometimes gay ppl arent born gay, but become gay

^ and they should be..... and asking when you liked women is real question. Prolly sometim after i got over the cooty stage, maybe in grade 2 or 3 or soemthing, if you look at little boys they dont like girls, so the decision must have been made sometime after they got over the cooty stage.
If you look back you will realize there were definatly a lot less gays in comparison with the populatoin than today. Is that because this wonderful gay gene is mutating more and more often as claimed by Petek. or maybe its because people like gravtek and petek and millions of others are very accepting of gay and things like gay pride are teaching our children there isn't anything wrogn with being gay and that society will accept and promote your feelings no matter what they are?

Mills has got it down. I think it has something to do with the way you are brought up also. If you are brought up in a household where your parents are agaisnt it, then you probably wont turn gay. But if your parents are just like 'whatever' then the first time you dont get accepted by a girl you turn gay... Mills has got it right on

Gee Mills, you sound like what racists sounded like in the 50's. Thinking that black people should be killed because being black was something wrong with them. Jesus, did I ever say I was accepting of gay pride? No I don't remember ever saying anything like that. I am accepting of it not being some disease that I can catch. I get annoyed with gays prancing themselves around in parades and thinking they're special or some shit. We're not out in the streets having hetero parades.

You think people are gay because they don't have accepting parents? What about all those people that disown their children because they admit to being gay. Two bit parents that are willing to abandon the children they have simply because of their sexuality, not any overt actions they have committed.

You are also failing to account for all the people who are gay and try to deny that they are, get married have a couple kids, and then fuck their family over when they can't live the lie anymore. This unwarranted hate is the kind of thing that leads people to be in the closet and potentially ruin other people's lives (such as the wife and kids in that example).

Seriously, take a lesson from the western's previous occupation with racism and get over them being the 'wrong' kind of person.

there are gay pride parades because gay culture has been supressed for such a long time. if you can't bear the sight of two men kissing each other, but you can sit through tens of thousands of glorified rapes and murders in front of your favourite medium.. in my opinion, there is a problem.

i think being gay is totally wrong and society has become way to de-sensitized to allow for it to happen. First of all im not a homophobic where i fear gays (i think way to many people call people 'homophobic' as a polite way to say somebody hates gays which by the way is bad diction) being gay has nothing to do with chemical problems, it definitly has to do with social problems growing up, like the example used as growing up in a poor society leading to gangs. i believe that some of the technology such as computers has destroyed some of the social communication between people leading to depression can eventually lead to gays. for proof, if you look at any second and third world countries where there is not a lot of technology, people are generally a lot more open with one another and also spend a lot of time talking about their life and just there problems. in these countries they have very little problems with gays.

prototype~~~ i realize that these people can be really depressed over their problems and i think that thats really good that you talk to them. its good to talk to these poepl and try to help them out to help them overcome some of their problems. its very noble for someone to do this. if we believe that homosexuality is wrong we need to be very helpfull to them to try to find out what some of their problems are and help them by trying to work through some of them.

lol oh man, there was definitely a large gay community before the internet was mainstream. Look at the large transmission of AIDS among gay males in the 80's. The only thing the internet has done for the gay community is give them a larger voice I suppose and allow them to be a little more open about it. If anything the internet has been a tool for gays to have to hide less in society; it doesn't create more gays.

And yes there are still people who hate gays and yes i AM one of them. I am not affraid of them i simply choose to not like them because of the way they behave. And to Gravtek i never said anythin about parents being accepting or not accepting. It has nothing to do with your parents for the most part. Its society. I'm sure many straight people have thought about being attracted to the same sex in the past, but they knew it just wasn't acceptable. And now you will see people just about encouraging people to be gay, i see posters all the time saying being yourself is a sign of strength and horse shit like that. I dont know where you are from but around here people dont beat people for being gay. To be truthful the majority of young people think its 'cool' if someone if gay and different.
And to gravtek who keeps baging for evidence it is quite obvious that there is no solid evidence for either side of this arguement, if there were this argument wouldn't be taking place. By calling someone stupid or ignorant for not agreeing with your opinion you are just prooving how closed minded you are and showing your ignorance. I am aware that there is a chance it is biological, i just choose to not beleive it yet because of other reasons. if it is prooven i guess i will have no choice but to accept the truth. So open your eyes and relise that things aren't just the way you want them to be.

I never asked for solid evidence that it was not biological. I only asked nipe because he said 'of course it's their choice.'

I'd also like to point out I haven't called anyone ignorant or stupid in this thread. There's no reason to tell someone they are. The idea is to show that the person is through the points you present.

this thread really turned into something that pisses me off. There's people saying 'i hate people because they like other people'. That's like hating someone, because they like Blonds. You shouldn't descriminate against someone, because of their sexual preference, their emotions, or even their beverage choice. It's not your place to decide if these people are adequate enough to have your respect. To not respect someone with different views from yours, is to not respect yourself. You're shutting yourself off from the rest of the world the second you discriminate. So don't...learn to not judge, learn to accept. People are always going to be piss offs, but it shouldn't be because they have different preferences than you, that's not a reason-it's an excuse.
