Martin,
That's interesting and I've thought about that a lot. Really, what is the Bible? I mean, it was written by humans like what, 1000 years ago? And I think it was originally written in Hebrew as well, which means that it would have had to be translated, by humans, at one point. Anyway, it's just a book. A story. I think people take it the wrong way sometimes and treat the Bible like it's a nuclear weapon or something. You have to remember that the way people spoke in that time spoke very differently from us today. There are so many analogies and parallels in the Bible that you can't take it word for word. That doesn't really prove that the Bible is true or not, nor does it prove or disprove christianity, but it's something to be considered.
I guess my main point in this whole topic is that people are what ruin religion. People misinterpret things and even though they think they're right, they do things that make others afraid of the subject. I don't think anyone should be uncomfortable about this subject. Why should they be? Where has all this tension come from? If there is a God and a Devil on this earth, I believe the Devil is responsible for a lot of churches out there, and that he has fooled a lot of people into thinking that he's God.
