im 5' 91/2' i dunno if thats considered tall but no its shouldnt be a disadvantage at all....maybe finding a normal sized ski for you might be hard but i ride 176's and theyre as tall as me....but no disadvanteage idont think i have a buncha really tall friends that ski and it doesnt bother them
jarett your a fool and im jealous of you because you got a quote in someones signature-RS4LIFE
i think there are disadvantages for sure. if i was in a comp against vinnie dorion or thall, when im in the air, i wouldnt look as high (im 6'3) compared to a 5'3 wee little man flying trough the air. as well, our centre of gravities are messed up, whereas someone like tanner has perfect balance and a great centre of gravity, if thats possible. but hey, i have a bigger penis, so, you know.
Typically, the taller you are the more you weigh. When you weigh more, you come down a lot harder, which may not seem so bad now, but down the road you have a better chance of having knee problems and such.
haha but im an exception, im 6'3, 150, so although im tall, i dont weigh all that much, and going down doesnt hurt as much. except that when i eat it on a rail, im so skinny that its like bone on metal contact, and that, my friends, is painful.
Yeah like my firend who weighs like 250 can tuck and race me while im tucking and he beats me by at least 500 feet, he races and wins every race even though he skis like shit, just because he weighs so much.
^^ yea.. I had to get out of racing, when I was younger I could get by because of my agility in slalom, but as it got more competitive I got smoked by people weighing double me in downhill and super g.. but o well I like being short and freeskiing because I have lower center of gravity on rails (better balance) and can remain stable in the air.
from what i know being lanky and weighing nothing retracts fro mstyle and you go slower but spin faster and float more- being heavy and big makes you go faster- float less and spin slower- but with more air

i am 6 foot 1 and i don't think it matters except when you grow a ton like last winter i grew like 6 inches.... i.e. gumpy as hell but now i am cornated again and there is no prob.
Officially Unable To Spell
I'm about 6'4, 185lbs. The center of gravity point being made is bullshit - everything is relative so it makes no difference. Being taller/skinnier does take away from style I think - look at Tanner or Nicky Adams in their baggy ghetto clothes - when they spin all tucked up it just looks so smooth.
The length have effect. The taller, the harder.. trust me. Its easier for a short person to spinning around stuff and shit, ive heard it from a professional gymnast or what hes called. But if youre taller youre going slower and more stylie.
