Making a PVC Rail (help plz)

Well its summer and I want to go skiing so bad. I can at least make my own rail for the upcoming winter. How do I attach a pvc pipe to a 2x4 and how much will it approximately cost? Any instruction,tips, or pics would be nice.

ok, buy two angle iorns and a 4x4 instead. once you figure out what an angle iorn is you will understand how to make it work. it should cost 15 bucks at the most

cut it down the midde and pull the sides over a 4x4.. then screw the sides into the 4x4, and and supports..

just attach the pvc with screws, go up though a 2X4 underneath. Then you won't have to drill holes oin the top that you could catch on. then screw the 2X4 to other wood for you base. At home depot, 10ft pvc is like $3 and 10ft 2X4's are something like $6

i had one set up last winter on a hill in my backyard...i suggest u get something a tad longer then 10ft! try a 20-25 footer even if u can't make it all. And watch out for the edges tearing up the pipe, mine did that and when the snow melted, lots of lil blue pieces to pick up! why dont u go for a rail (metal) and wax the hell outta it. DOnt get me wrong the pvc worked great but it wears very fast

I have a sweet double kink I made this season.. I'll try and get some pics up soon.. it was fairly easy to make and with the plastic and wood cost me about $60.

they are really easy my bud and i made his in like 10-15 min. but def. go bigger then 10 foot cause it isn't even worth it.

ill try to make a very long pvc tube rail.
maybe ill connect 2 tubes that are like 15 foot each.ill hit it with a triple switch up hahaha

What I did was if I had a 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe, I would get four or so 16 inch 2x4's and cut 1 1/2 inch semi circles in the end of them. I would then place the rail in the semi circles and drill through the side and I would have a pretty good PVC rail

If the PVC pipe is wide enough to put your hand in the end then just drill throught the bottom and use nuts and bolts to secure it together. At each end drill two holes a few inches apart then attatch planks or 2x4s for stability. At the end of the wood, put some big bolts or something through to stick into the snow so that it won't move around.

And don't listen to people saying to build one out of angle iron - it will be hard to mount it to something without screws or something sticking out. Plus you will have to pay more for good metal that won't mess up your skis, and it will probably rust anyway. PVC rails are very fun - go for it.

dont build rails out of pvc, your just gonna scrape through it if you hit it on skis, plus it flexs too much

check out the FARP rail session in my profile. Thats on PVC. Its actually really tough. just put it on a board and drill up through the bottom. You can drill holes in the rail and then drill through there. Your edges will slide over the holes. At least mine did. It cost about 4 dollars for 8 feet of PVC I think. The rest we just found lying around my garage.

o and i found a new material to jibon.
i think its called lexan or something like that.
its like plexiglass but it doesnt break.
the guy working at the store said it was unbreakable.ill probably use that to make a kink.

don't bother with PVC get metal. my friend and I built a 10 foot pvc rail....such a waste of time. just find a nice urban jib at some school or somehting

what my friends did was, they took abunch of 2x4's and made them into the shape that htey wanted, Rainbow for example, it was actually, not a perfect rainbow, but about half of a 20 sided shape, so it had like 10 sides to it, and some supports.....anyway, then they just put two pieces of PVC side by side and screwed them in from the underside of the 2x4's, the end

the farp rail is 8 feet i think. Thats what the length of the pvc they sold at the hardware store was.
