So basically I overshot a jump. Landed on the flats. Maybe about a 15-20 footer. I landed strangely. Kinda backseat but not really. Hard to explain. But I hit my heels pretty hard. Long story short I messed up my heel/ankle. It hurts like heck to walk, but it's slowly getting better.
What'd I do? ??????

you bruised your heel buddy - it probably wont change colour like a normal bruise because the base of your foot is not especially vascular.
It will be sore for a while, the best thing you can do is ice it, rest it and keep it mobile (keep your ankle moving through its four ranges of motion).

I suggest you ask someone who really knows what they're talking about. You cant expect us to give you any real others than R.I.C.E it. Ibuprofen can help the swelling, if there is any.

orthotics? holy shit, orthotics will make no difference to how much you bang up your heels if you overshoot your landing. They give support to your arch or plantar fascia or correct your foots tendency to pronate or supinate.

i have a bruised heel right now and have for about a month... it hurts like hell and i got it from casing... but i still hit jumps everyday even though it shoots pain through my whole leg when i land sometimes... so go ski... get some dr scholls er sumthin...

why wouldnt orthropedic inserts help? if they raised the tarsal bone and padded it, that should help
