flatspin 3 death or possible?

last season i tried a flatspin 3 off of a kicker that some friends and i made...i got the rotation but when i got to 3 i wasnt fully vertical, i was off axis a little bit...is it possible to stick off a regular jump or do you need a hip?

i bet hips are easier...maybe try just do a back then start shifting towards a flat 3 off the jump...but i dunno never done a flat 3...

my friend kevin malone did these flatty 3 criticals over the big hip at mammoth, so stylie, that kid should be sponsored, hes only been skiing like three or four years too

^but were they more of b flips then flatspins?
in tanners part in SM3 all of his 'flats' look more like back flips

at first they were but then he worked at it and got em totally flat, by tweaking the critical it made him more flat

Lots of people do flat threes. At first they look like lincons that never went inverted, but when you lookl at them closely you can tell there flat. In strike three someone does one, I can remember now but I will look for tomorrow.

ben grunow does them how they should be done, after i saw him do em at last years gravity grail, i've almost got them perfected over the big hip/table at the bottom of the okemo park, i also ate shit many times, but landed many smooth ones. definatly one of my favorite tricks, and they feel oh so nice, and look pretty too. -josh

well.. its kinda like a cork three because a cork three inst actually corked as in not throuwn backwards and acording to the laws of physics it shouldnt be possible but we just tork ourselves to make it work... so what im trying to say is that the only *real falty{* meaning that its not supposed to possible to do a flat 3 should be a 5 but you just make sure you dont go inverted and voila and after you land that shit say something like:

OUI MON OSTI DE TABARNAC DE CHIEN SAL DE SAUT JE T'EST FOURRE BIEN RAIDE... yep

The flat 3 in that clip is really more of an off-axis backflip, not completely flat. Like someone said, it would be very hard to do a true flat 3. Ostness did one years back in a Line catalogue over a big gap that was pretty much spot-on. You'd need a big jump to get it right.

When someones doing them the first thing you think is flat 5, but then he like stalls it out at what would be 270 and comes down at three. You might even think its a flat 5 if you didnt see the landing.

its like a cork three, unless you're tanner, who can do corked 3's over 30 foot tables, you need a big ass jump.

It kinda like a cork three...but not. You are on your back for the first 180 like in a normal flat. Then, at 180 you keep going on your back till you are kinda where you would be in a cork, but you bring your feet down and pull your head up a little. At three you should be almost level again, and you just have to straighten out a little. I can do them on a tramp about 50% of the time, but I have never done it on skis

no, he means it like you need a big table to do cork 3, you also need a big table to do flat 3. not like the tricks are the same...

people *really* piss me off about fuckin what something is and isn't. that clip i posted is pretty much a 'flat 3'. you can post and say 'well, actually it's more of an off axis backflip', but I think you should just keep it to yourself. It's obviously NOT a straight backflip, and if you watch it slow, his feet are for the most part even with his head. in other words, what people call a flat 3, and way better than most people can do. bottom line, if it's close enough, shut the hell up.

i think my problem with them is, once i learned linclon loops they were so easy for me that every time i try something thrown to the side or forward i end up doing a linclon
