Could you imagine if someone like Tanner Hall, Jon Olsson, Eric Pollard or some other top pro were to have lived back in the 60s/70s as they are now. How the skiing would be so much different if they still had their mindset to throw down tricks like what they're doing.
Some people started to start a twin tip ski thing back in those times but they were the only ones and they didn't have stuff like the internet to promote themselves like people nowadays. My Uncle had a friend who twin tipped a pair of his skis back in the 70s/80s and everyone thought he was crazy.
But could you imagine if in the 70s, people had the skills they do now, what skiing would be like nowadays? The Top professionals would be throwing flawless airs on high tech skis with quadruple the technology we have today. It would be so weird.

no it wouldnt have been much different, the people that skied back then were just as athletic as tanner and all them. If they lived back then they probably wouldnt have thought of doing what they were doing today and if they did they wouldnt have good enough skis to even do half that shit on, so no its kind of a stupid question.
haha dspin maybe read the post through before making insults, he said imagine where newschool would be if they had the technology and did the tricks in the 70's or something that we do today, and where skiing would be today. these kind of post are what the skiing forums are for.

oh hey steeb, i've just been bustin out large. its kinda hard not to with a skateboard as big as mine
skiing started to progress in the 70's the same way it has in the past few years, im sure newschool would be different if it had started in the 70's, but freestyle skiing was heading on a progressive track, but the fis competitions slapped a lot of restrictions on skier which hindered progression
'what the bloody fuck was that?'-Some english guy on seeing my friend do a 720
everyone may be forgeting that 'newschool' skiing would not exist without what snowboarding has become. After all, it was the new canadian air force that started skiing pipe on blackcomb, and found the need for a twin tip ski. So, in order for skiing as we know it, to exist in the 70's, snowboarding would have had to exist in the 50's and 60's. Something to think about.
You should belive everything you read on the internet, it's all true.
there wouldnt be any halfpipes cause those werent invented yet. And probably not rails either
