It doesn't matter how strong your abs are unless you have low body fat. Everyone has nice abs under that adipose tissue at your gut. Generally you have to get to 6-5% body fat to have your abs show through decently without flexing or anything. Of course it's nice to have strong abs, but you're not gonna see the results your expecting unless you get your body fat down.

guys have it bad tho, women's fat usually is around there waste, thies, and chest(all the nice places), male fat goes almost right to the stomache.
i was born fat, and at one point in my life i had a six pack, then i got a back injury, now i got a bit of a spare tire.

I think i'm going crazy...

7min abs. My friend whom is a gymnist told me about them. She has quite the tight stomach.
Pretty much think of 7 different ab exersise and then do 1 for a min and then do another the next min. continue this until 7min are up. No breaks. Hurts like hell.

you wanna cut down body fat? don't eat cookies, chips, copious amounts of red meat, candy, soft drinks, sweetened juices or anything that is chalk full of empty calories. that and exercise. lots of exercise.

Cutting down your body fat is really easy if you have the discipline. The basic philosophy is that you have to burn more calories than you take in. When your body has a lack of calories and carbs to burn, it immediately starts burning your fat stores. Lifting won't burn those calories as fast as cardiovascular exercise does. I still lift more than I do cardio, but you'd be amazed that if you put a decent amount of effort into a low calorie, high protein diet, and start doing a good amount of cardio, how hard you'll end up looking. But yea, reduce the calories in your diet, and do cardio.

long distance running is the way to go. i was never in the habit of sit ups or anything, all i did was run, and i have a decent set of abs to show for it. granted, my body fat % is like 4, so that helps a bit too.

push ups may work the whole upper body but the main areas is your chest and triceps,its the same thing as a standard bench press

push ups and sit ups. but it doesn't really matter if u have a 6 pack because most of your life you'll have a shirt on. unless you in a nudist colony.

coz must be sticking his butt up or sagging in the middle while he does his 10 wimpy 'shups cause they definately are centered in the chest, and it definately hurts after you do a bunch, and you're doing them right.

As far a losing the weight, just eat right, don't slouch around all day at the puter or TV, or if you do, use hand weights while you're watching TV. This brings up your basal metabolism (lifting weights), which in the long run will help you burn more Calories. Sit ups, crunches and leg lifts are def also good. One last thing is to just do any other exercises you know that'll help tighten up the muscle in there.

Somebody said not to eat sugar or fat...that's not completely true. You need the sugars or fats because otherwise your body will think that you're starving or something, and hold onto the fats, and consume something else (protiens I think...) You just don't want to get out a jug of soda and chips and eat all of it. Ya, just be smart about it...

Also, you can't target burn fat. Doing situps doesn't burn fat at your stomach, sorry. Usually the last places you lose your fat are at your stomach and your ass. It's all or nothin with fat, you can't pick and choose where to get rid of it, unless you're having surgery.

leg lifts, and lifting, and running, or uphill biking. u can do push ups but it definately isnt as good because you wont be getting the same out of that as you would maxing out on the bench. but the gym at school is only open tuesday and thursday in the summer so...

i really good ab excercise is to lie flat on your back and put your hands under youer ass, then lift your legs up and down and hold them about 6 inches off the ground, youll feel the burn

Sit ups are pointless, you should do crunches instead. The final 2/3 to 1/2 of the sit up doesn't put the necessary stress on the abs you need. All you have to do are crunches, really tighten it at the top of the crunch and also exhale. This is why boxers always breath out when they throw a punch because it tightens their abs, so in case they get punched they're flexed down there.

alright, if u really want ur abs to show, u need to get rid of the fat first obviously. do interval training: sprint for 30 seconds, jog for a minute and then do it again like ten times or as long as you can go. for situps, the best way to build ur abs is to use heavier weights and lower reps because of the type of muscle fiber your abs are. use a decline bench on the highest incline setting and grab a ten pound weight and put it behind your head, not on ur chest, gotta be behind the head. do 3 sets of 10-12 reps. then use the same bench and weight, but hold it out with your arms fully extended. as you go down, move the weight from straight out in front of you to your side (twist your torso) but keep your arms straight out the whole time. 3 sets, 10-12 reps doing one side at a time(go to the right ten times, then the left ten times is one set). if u have a friend, do some medicine ball tosses on the incline bench too and have him throw your legs down or just do leg lifts. then go to a tricep pull down machine and hold the rope things behind your head while you're on your knees and crunch down so u feel it in the top of your abs, 3 sets, 15 reps. last, find a mat and get in a push-up position on your elbows and hold yourself flat for 2 minutes (repeat until ur really hurting). periodically throughout the day, tense your abs up for about a minute just to keep them in check. now just don't eat a lot of sugar, carbs or high fructose corn syrup products and you should be set.
