When your just learning go at the box with it between your legs. Jump and turn your legs 90. Dont turn your whole body because you will spin off the box after you get on. Keep solid stance, dont stand straight up, look to the end of the rail. Speed is key.
Once you have the sliding down the start to disaster onto it.
when you pop and go 90 make sure you commit. if you only go 45 or lean back you will fall on your ass. its actually easier to go 100% than to "take it easy"
just jump, land smooth with bent knees and a wide stance, look at end of rail, keep shoulders straight and lean forwardish. o yea go faster than you think you need to.
If your just learning then the boxes youre trying probably will be ride on or small jumps so you wont need to worry about it. When you work your way up all it takes is a little jump to get onto rails.
Make sure you have your weight in your front foot and your skis flat. Look at the end of the box and spot your landing. If you want to land switch look uphill and turn your shoulders uphill, don't turn your lower body, it will follow. Most important, have fun!
good tips are to have good speed, look at the end of the feature, get low and loose, make sure you have the boxe straight ahead of you before popping on it.
You will rarely fall forwards when you are first starting out. You are going to be afraid of it and lean away from the box, slip out and slide the rest of it on your ass. SO....try to avoid that by concentrating on staying forward.
