Today the Boston Globe has an article about skiing's new dominance on the slopes and the decline of snowboarding's 'coolness'.
The article particulary highlights Dumont, saying "skier Simon Dumont rides his four edges as well as anybody, and his fans know it. Out near the halfpipe were two young ladies ogling Dumont. Partly because he can throw a 1260 degree spin and partly because he is "dead-sexy" and "steezy", which means he has style with ease." Gotta love it. The article was actually very well written and informative to the average reader/skier/snowboarder.
Most interesting quote noted that "snowboarding is now mainstream, which means, virtually by definition, that it's bound to become uncool."
Any thoughts? Should we protect skiing's radness right now from the establishment, or is it inevitable?
