ok well i'll just get right to the point, i have a bit of a problem with smoking/using DXM (cough syrup). i need to stop, and i have been doing alright untill about last week when i started smoking/using DXM alot (for about a week). i can stop for like a month at a time but after that i usually slip up and do one or the other, then keep doing it for a while untill i decide to stop again. what are some ways to stay clean (just a few tips on what you do to fight the urge).
one way that has worked for me is just chilling with friends that dont do drugs (which i have plenty of). the problem is that now that its winter, its harder for me to chill with friends on the weekends unless they can come up skiing with me (which doesnt work out all the time).
so any tips??

if you really want to get off, tell your friend that you have a problem, and have them keep a watch on you a little bit, if its not something you can stop on your own, and last resort, talk to parents

as for quitting, i guess try having more friends up skiing whenever you can since that helps you. also tryt o cut off your supply of both drugs. good luck dude!

the best way is to hang out with people that dont do it, and keeping yourself busy with school and skiing/any other sports. Have some of your sober friends keep an eye on you if you start to slip up. if you really cant do it....talk to your parents about rehad/detox

allthough, ive never had an addiction problem, i had a good buddy who did. he was really hardcore into oxycontin, heroin, pot, cigs, and who knows what else. hes pretty much recovered now, and he did it by taking up exercising. i would weightlift and run with him five days a week. in my opinion exercising is excellent for kicking drugs for a few reasons. you have to be healthy to do it. you can feel the effects of being clean when you do it, and running, and other endurance exercises releases endorphins into your bloodstream. giving you a sort of runners high, from doing something good for you. also make sure to stay away from people who have drug problems, it will be far easier to fall back into old habbits if everyone you are with is doing it.

well its mostly that whenever i do it, i dont get anything done, except in the rare case that i get some bomb weed and only then will i actually get something (not much) done. i guess some people can smoke without a problem, but i cant without me getting lazy, and thats why i want to stop.
i actually have been excersizing and that has also helped alot but sometimes i just seem to fall through and get back to smoking/dxm for like a week, then i get back on track.

have your friends keep a watch out on you. if they care they will. focus on school or skiing and chill with your buddies that aren't into the shit. get into enjoying your time without it.. don't think about it. it gets easier after a while.

the same thing happened to that buddy of mine. about every few weeks hed slip up. if your really serious about getting off it, you probably need to tell someone. it can be a buddy, a gf, a parent, a counselor, but make sure someone else knows. it makes it loads easier when you have someone there to talk to, and check up on you. thats why treatment works. and if you have to get treatment, do it. ive had friends that were in it, and my sister was in it. believe me, nobody will think less of you for getting help. and from what it sounds like, your parents dont know. if you keep doing it theyll find out eventually, so if you have to, tell them you need help, and things will end up way better than if you never tell them and your problem gets worse.

do not attempt to get clean from all the drugs you take at once cuz you try that and your doomed get off the cough syrup first smoke herb whenever you feel urges or workout once you have no more urges for the syrup then work on the reefer
