What do you guys put it at when skiing park. My buddy put his too high and tore his ACL on a 270 on when he fell and the skis didnt come off. Im 6'3" 165 if that helps...
you must be pretty skinny...im 5'9" and about 165lbs. ive got mine at about 8.5, its been really good for park, always popped off in bad bails, but never when i didnt want em to. they came off a few times in glades when i didnt actually, so ive been thinking of putting them up a bit. really depends on how you ski though
I'm around 5-7' and I weigh 130lb. mine are a little over 7. At my shop they put it around 6 and it wasn't anough. now they just perfect. so look at a chart and boost it a little.
I'm 5"8 and about 140, and mine is at about 6.5, but I'm just really cautious. Better safe than sorry. I've only popped out if I land super sketchy switch.

unless you land on your feet everytime, there is no reason to have a higher din than usuall.
When my skis come off I know I did something wrong, plus my knees still work after i crash.
I rock 8 in the front 11-12 in the back for switch landing on big jumps, if my backs were at like 9 or 10 i would just pop out if i didnt land perfect, because im a fat ass.
keep in mind that bindings perform irregularly when the din spring is cranked to the extremes (high or low) so even if you are on a 12 your binding might eject when you dont want it to if your din only goes to 12 or 13.
I'm 6'1" 185 lbs. and set my bindings at 12 on my big mountain skis and 11 on my park skis. Both have always released when I've needed them to. At least for big mountain stuff, I've always found the possibility of pre-releasing to be as big a danger as getting my knee twisted from a stubborn binding. Also, in my opinion, shops set binding dins way too low.
im 130 pounds and i have mine at 4 and 5. I know this sounds weak ass, but i have nbever had a porblem with them pre releasing when i didnt want them to. I only have slight troubles when landing switch frontseat off of big jumps.
YOU NEED YOUR BOOT SOLE LENGTH! Otherwise it could be a varying range. And also, if you are 9 and under or 50 or above, which i doubt, you need to go up one
i have mine at 9 on my pow skis and i havent had them pop off yet doing 180's into pow and some really hard landings and butters all the time, but with the same bindings on my park skis they are at 10.5 and they pop off all the time doing 270's on and its pissing me off.
dude if you're over 6 foot and that heavy you should have your din on like 12 or 13. Im 5'8" and 145 lbs and I have my FKS 155 bindings on 13 and they are perfect. They only release when I fall.
jesus christ, just asking people what dins they have will do you nothing, just go into a ski shop and ask them wat you should be on,if neccessary put it one or at the most one and a half up if you find your self pre releasing. the reason you can't just ask people for estimates is that half of these people (not all!)probably dont have a clue what setting they have. I work in a rental shop and realise that to set your DIN you need your sole length!! aswell as your height and weight and skill level. its not worth just guessing, as you can see from your mates torn ACL. go to a shop and ask. you wont even get charged it takes about 20 seconds to work out.
What I do is hold the screwdriver with my teeth. I find when i can't turn it any more then i am on the right Din. Just don't tell your dentist about it!
Set the binding at the shops reccommended mark (Which is too low in most cases) then crank it up by 1 everytime your boot pre-releases when it shouldn't. Then you will be fine.
I have mine on 10 for jibbing and 12 for skiing about but I'm heavy and an ex-racer. Its all about finding whats a comfortable setting for you.
And for gods sake set the toe and heel pieces the same din.
also depends on the bindings. although DIN is supposed to be standardized, many times, if your boot doesn't fit well in your binding the DIN setting won't matter. That being said. id put ur binding at about 7/8
