So the only company that focuses solely on extra-fat powder skis is based in Summit County. What the Fuck?! anyone who has skied more than one day in summit county knows that locals go crazy for 4in powder days. it snows more than 6in in one storm maybe like once every other two weeks. and gets tracked out in a day. where the fuck did the inspiration come from in Summit County to make specific deep pow skis? Someone needs to shed light on this cuz im fucking confused.
wats the big deal where theyre based out of, Line was based out of vermont over here where if it snowed people were bouncing off the walls but they still have produced some of the best fat skis out there. IE: sir francis bacons, elizabeths.
line started as snowblades not fatty skis. (however, they did make some 150mm underfoot snowblades) line's fatty skis came from pollard skiing in really deep snow. im talking about the location of the company ^ not where they're sold. fattypus's must have come from all that epic pow in summit coutny, but it doesn't exist. so why did they originate in summit county? or anywhere in CO for that matter?
ummm, where do you live? once upon a time, a thing called a snowmobile was invented. it magically took skiers to far away places, with tons of powder that never gets tracked out. it was gods gift to the people, and they rejoiced by going deep into the backcountry and finding endless pow.
it doesn't matter how far you go into the backcountry on ur sled in summit county or most parts of CO for that matter. It still ain't deep enough to require 140mm underfoot. have you seen LSS? A lot of it is shot in CO bc. ie T. Redd, Steele Spence and Liam Downey's parts. ain't no deep powder anywhere.
Just because this company is based out of summit county, doesnt mean thats were the inspiration came from. It means this is where the money comes from. They are a private company who had to raise the money through bank loans and private equity. So more than likely the group backing the idea lives and works near summit countyor has some other interest there.
ummmm do you live in colorado
THE PERSON THAT MADE THIS THREAD IS A DUMB ASS
im sorry but although this year has been that great of a snow year
i remember maybe ya LAST YEAR summont county got 3 or so feet of snow in a few days
and that this year winter park has gotten close to that
and denver, yeah the city has like 2 feet of snow in it right now
Summit county sounds like a great place to invent the most inavtive pow ski to me
