I began skiboarding before I switched to twin tips. I had fun while skiboarding. They're definitely a different tool altogether for ripiing the mountain than skis. I know for someone my size, they just couldn't handle the abuse (the non-release bindings actually caused me to snap a board in half) so I switched to twin tips. Anyway, I think a majority of the people on here flame them because of what they see on the hill. There are some pretty good skiboarders out there, and even when you see the skills of groups like b-crew, it's hard to take it seriously what with PVC pipes on the floor. Anyway, www.skiboardsonline.com
has pretty good videos of people who can actually skiboard. I don't see them as an excuse for people who can't ski, because obviously the starter of this thread proves that that is not the case, I see skiboards as a different tool to snow slide, just like snowboards and snowskates.
