I haave seen on other sites in their forums where when a member, mod, or whoever creates a thread, they have the option of "locking" it. what this does is allows the creator to not allow anybody else to post comments or reply to the thread. By doing this you would eliminate the need to read countless replies that don't mean anything.
you could even take the process one step further and allow the thread creator to filter out what replies they want from the thread they created. i know that mods already have this capability and maybe by giving this power to everyone we would be limiting the rights of people to express a valid point by having the thread creator delete it because they disagree with what is being said.
anyhoo, just a suggestion
"Welcome to Washington D.C., the chocolate city with the marshmallow center and graham cracker crust of corruption"
good suggets...but i dont see the point of locking it so no one else can say something..isnt that the whole point..and to ur second thing i think NS would get boring if there wasnt arguments or discussion...u could have someone just deleting the comments for the fun of it...i think leaving those capailitys to the mods is good enough
Those are good ideas, but they would make NS far too orderly. NS just wouldn't be NS without a good argument and some flaming here and there. Besides, then a noob could get away with anything and there would be no incentive to actualy make good posts. You could make a thread just go get a single response and then lock. That shouldnt be how it works. With the risk of getting pwned people are more likely to make intelligent posts.
idk if locking is a good idea but in ski equipment if a member could delete their own thread after they have sold what they wanted too that could be helpful. cause once the stuffs sold the threads useless and takes away from other still active threads and sales
