Upgrading for editing standards
So I use a Mac all the time, and it is an iBook. It runs great and I use it all the time but I don't want to put a big editing program on it like final cut just because I use it for everything else and it is a laptop. So my big question is rather than buying a whole new computer would it be worth it to upgrade one I have around my house to run premier on? I have a Dell Dimension 4400 (not sure how fast it is or w/e) So what would be substancial parts to have in the computer to just run Premier and explorer? And a price on the parts it would need.
i'm not a PC guy, but you would need more RAM. i mean 256 would run both but wold be slow as hell and premier would probably crash a lot. upgrade to a gig of RAM, and it should be fine.
PROVE ME WRONG
Every year masses of people attatch skis to their feet; few attatch them to their soul.

i dont really know anything about macs but i jsut got a PC laptop: gb of ram, 120gb drive, 128mb display card, like 2 ghz. and i run Premiere Pro 2 (newest one i dont know if its out) with no problems whatsoever.
Lil-G made the naughty list the second I joined this site. It seems to me that this guy was raised by a watermelon and Dr. Dre.
