my friend just moved to Folsom CA and she wants me to go and visit her next yr and i thought id kill 2 birds with one stone and do some skiing what are the good areas around here? and how far are they?
it depends what you want to ski. if you want to hit up some sick parks, head to alpine meadows, northstar, or squaw valley(but squaw's expensive).. if you want to shred some pow and maybe drop a few cliffs, go to kirkwood, heavenly, sugar bowl, or squaw.. i dont know what you like to ski or what skill level you are, so if you post that i can maybe help narrow down your decision
i would say that Alpine has better off-piste big mountain type riding than their park. i go to Alpine because i love the skiing there, not the park so much. i have so much fun just ripping all over that place in allmost any snow condition. Alpine is dope...and cheap.
i would say alpine would be a good choice. and they do have a sick park... nick's jump line is huge and immaculately manicured. but they have some good all mountain stuff. kirkwood would be another good place i would think. they arent a park oriented resort but they still have a pretty decent park, not to mention some of the best big mtn and powder skiing around.
