this season i came across a podium box at mammoth, at first i watched as every skier went by it like it wasnt there, and every boarder ollied through it with ease. i stepped up to it, and got it 2nd or 3rd time.
it seems like this jib was built with snowboarding in mind, but skiers are definitely able to do it. Did anyone else get wrecked going for it first try?
thats why i made the post, i searched and found one thread that explained what a real podium box is. Its a flat box that has a raised middle, some how you must slide, jump to the next level and if you make it ride it out.
this feature holds alot of progression for skiing, instead of dismissing it because its hard, think about the way it could push skiing towards ollies and presses.
but until then, if you dont jump you die...I seen a pro hit it, either austin ramaley or tim russel, but they just stepped up on the ledge. But, It would be possible to ride it like the snow boarders, and press intoan ollie to get on to the next level.
