How can i get a .avi movie file from my computer onto a DVD-R. Whats the best program to use. I tried using record NOW! but it only takes DVD-RAM and DVD-RW
do you want to be able to view it on a DVD player that is somewhat old and probaly cant read AVI?
or do you just want to store the AVI on the disc for further use on the compuer at a later time?
your dvd burner should have came with software to burn disc's.
I have Sonic Record Now to just burn the AVI to the DVD. or I also have the DVD movie maker that can turn an AVI into a viewable disc on a DVD player. all which came with my sony dvd recorder.
it will use any dvd-+r
my dvd player can play AVI so I just put multi movies in AVI format to a disc and play like that
is your player new? can it read .AVI, DIVX, .MPG, ect?
look at the specifications of the player.
it will tell you if it can read -r and +r and AVI,DIVX, MPG formats.
if it can read AVI then just burn the movie to the disc in the AVI format. it will be smaller so u can add multi movies.
if it cant read AVI then you need to use a program that "makes" a dvd format for you. and this will take the AVI and turn it into a ISO for the player to read. u can have menus and other features too
