does anyone know if they have cellphone signal in tahiti? i have no idea where it is but my girlfriend is going there for 3 weeks and i want to know if i can text her.

also, how much extra would it cost to text from tahiti.

damn u stupid americans!!!!!!! What the hell do u think that u can only have signal in the west!! U dont even have signal everywhere in the states!!! And damn tahiti is one the most famous island in the pacific with amaizing surf!

depends on her carrier. If she has carrier that uses a GSM network (cingular, ATT, T Mobile etc...). im about 90% sure they use GSM network there. also depends if she has a quad band world phone. i now its complicated but if she meets these cryteria then yes you can text her.

oh if its a canadian company you guys should already be on a international network. but to be honest with you have her call her carrier for a 100% answer on this. it ll probably only take like 5 min. i sell phones here in the states its a little differnt on how we do things (network, roaming, etc..)
