Tell me which photo is better

every month the forum on lonely planet (makers of backpacker travel guides, surely you know this) has a competition for best picture. this month the theme is 'africa or asia', really broad, just has to be a picture from either continent. that being said, i'm trying to pick which picture to enter. hit the link, i'm choosing between #10, #12, #14, #17, #18, #39

Hey Ian,

I'm not sure why you've picked those particular ones to choose from, as I enjoy some others more than those. I'm really amazed with all those pictures. Fucking incredible.

I would have to say #10, based on composition, lighting, the scene, and the audience you're aiming for. The others are great, but I think in order for your photo to be the chosen one, the subject(s) be something special, and I think that of the ones you're chosing from, #10 has the most mystique. The monks at the top really set it off.

A few of the other images are more crisp, but they're not powerful in the way #10 is.

#'s 12 and 18 are my favorites out fo the ones that you chose. 41 is my favorites out of the ones you didn't pick.

i liked 10 a lot, but the fact that the dark to light line cuts the picture exactly in half on that diagonal is a really cool concept, but i don't think it's the most visually appealing composition for the picture.

really really dope pictures though. i liked 'em a lot.
