i've always wondered about this. remember in the matrix when smith compares humans to viruses? it's pretty true. at the rate that we're reproducing, there will eventually come a time when earth is just out of resources and room. i just hope it's not in my lifetime.

thats what the generations before us said and now we are going to deal with most of the problems we have today. How about we say that we dont want our children to have to deal with it. Everybody says that they don't want to have to deal with it but isn't that very selfish considering that we just make it worse and worse and have another generation deall with it.

Yeah... I'd say it's pretty irresponsible for people in my generation (I'm 17) to have children.

With the growth of some eastern countries, and the fact that the chinese are willing to work 5 times as hard and for half the money, as well as resources decreasing etc... European (and possibly american) people within the next 500 years or so are gonna have a hard time...

white people in general are the only ones being responsible on this issue. Growth rate in the United States and Europe is evening out and is completely manageable. Its those motherfucking Chinese that keep poppin out more and more little asian robots. The chinese and the people of India. Its they who are polluting the world with excess amounts of their people.

we are destroying the earth and we will probably see close to the end of it. i remember seeing 60 minutes where they said the countries top scientists are saying in ten years global warming will be irreversible and the earths temp will increase by at least 1 degree a year if we dont start doing shit, but we wont because the world is driven by money.

you know, you're right. They're the ones who spend more oil and other natural resources than the rest of the planet combined. Oh no, thats us Americans, i forgot. and about "white" people being responsible, actually it's just Europe. Most European countries growth rates are almost down to 0 and some are in the negatives, they are finding ways of limiting their resource consumption, inventing new efficient energy sources, etc... Even organizations like BP global that advertise their commitment to environmental action and efficient, new and innovative energy techniques spends almost twice as much on oil than they do on all other energy projects combined (15 billion vs 8 billion total)

Europe is a major consumer of oil as well. Perhaps not as much as the United States but they import much more since Europe has next to no oil reserves. Another problem that has caused the United Stated to cause pollution are those fucking environmentalist! That's right, these pro-earth fuckers have made it impossible since they've come about to make any additional nuclear power plants, which run clean. Instead we've had to keep using oil and coal for our electrical power necessities. All we really need is a clean source of power for automobiles to prevent exhaust emissions and to use nuclear power.

When i think about what we are doing to our world, it just makes me so sad. Life for the average person hasnt gotten any better, its taken us thousands of years of consumption and desctruction for some of use to have sanatation and if were lucky 2 meals a day. It is just so sad what we are doing to our world, and how it is not in our control. How people place more importance on numbers that are completly imaginary then they do on their fellow mans needs. I might sounds alot like a nilhst, but we have built up too much structure on our social fabric, so much that we no longer know where it stretches. We are somewhere along a pyramid, we can see what happens below us, but never whats going on above us, and we dont understand how what we do in our little part is connected to those around us. There is no escape from the couse that we have laid out for our selves. But it is also imposible to start over.

This must be what walking the plank feels like. steping forward timidly towards ones own destruction. ever hoping that there will be escape. Ever clinging onto the chance that once your in the water youll be fine. But we wont be. And it makes me sad that people are so greedy they cant see this.
