Yeah, that's the word, but we lost hella snow to the rain. Hopefully they'll let Pete go crazy and build something massive right away if it does open...otherwise I'll probably just save myself for when it's good. Our rails are way brutal.

snocomp was fun. the mqt dudes brought some much needed competition, threw down, and took it. i didn't plan on staying up for the 4 nights prior to snocomp or skiing on a sprained ankle but it worked out better than it should have. props to the people that made it happen.

Pretty fun comp, all you Ripley guys keep it real. I honestly think Ripley has one of the top parks in Michigan...sucks you guys are in the huge shadow of MQT. The only complaint i had for your park was the second jumps lack of a long landing... but you cant do much to change that with your lack of steepness on that run... Real good time...anyone need some foils? Ill cut ya a deal haha.

Yea SnoComp was pretty good MTU talent almost took the comp, my friend Wes (junior) took third. Funny thing is that was his second time even skiing the park this year. He only came because he didnt have a ski race that weekend.

How is the park over on danny boy? Theres definitely the potential there but I'm curious as to whether its working out well? Hopefully things are sweet up there and I'm super excited to come home and throw down over spring break!

first off there is a new ripley thread, and second dany boy is ill, it still needs to be fine tuned a bit, but it's better than anything yet. all the jumps got smaller, which is fine because there is less bitching, but there has been soo much powder in the last week park is for bitches. hahaha, no as soon as it quits snowing the park will be finished, jason and I are going to go set up some rails in the new rail yard too.

jea, the park is pretty close to all set to, some snow cat issues have been holding us back but after the weekend, those should be fixed. The park however is pretty rock solid at the moment, and will be better than ever before at snowcomp.

"park is for bitches"...but you know what? i think the realest skiers/snowboarders out there are the ones that don't need 2 feet of fresh powder to get off their asses and ride...nah, the ones setting up jibs with minimal snow, doing their thing on ice, and riding the hill weeks after it closes prove who bitch and who ain't. ya dig?

hey ryan, i think you took gavins comment a little wrong. He wasn't saying that riding park is always "for bitches" He was just making the point that at that point in time we had been getting so much snow that there were (and this is only an opinion) much more enjoyable aspects to riding ripley such as floating on all that new snow. plus, gavin has been out there setting up jibs all year, even before the hill was open, and im sure he'll still be out there after it closes.

wow dude you took that the wrong way. I was just pumped on skiing powder that week. Because i ski every week, almost everyday all week. I'm up at 8 most weekdays grooming the hill. And I'm up till 4 or five in the morning making your park fresh, battling ice... I set up the rails, I groom the jumps, I even made a lot of them or was there helping make every other jump this year. Talk about minimal snow, I have to avoid grass like the plague this year. But to me skiing isn't all about jibs and jumps. Skiing is about skiing. That's it. Where's my footy at? I don't need a camera to ski. Skiing isn't about getting "footy" skiing is about going out, with your friends, or yourself, and making the most of what you have. Some days it's epic powder, some days it's the best day the park could have, some days the wind an ice make you just want to go home, but I don't I just find creativity on the hill even if it means making turns on a groomer because everything else sucks. I'm sorry I don't want to ski park only. I want to ski too. I don't need to prove shit. I'll ski and do my thing and if you knock on it go ahead. I don't care, because I'm having fun. I respect that you do what you do, it's cool, just remember that I in no way will ever knock on another skier for what they value in skiing.

these little kids that come up here from downstate and shit don't even know me at all..it's sad...they just assume shit...they think that just cause i'm not at ripley every shitty day we get 2 inches that i hate powder or something, or claim that park is better. they could never keep up with me in the backcountry, much less the park. i've got 10 times as many hours as them at bohemia and they're gonna try to talk some shit...fuck that. i don't ride to film, i film 2% or less of the shit i do, but if i'm gonna risk my season and backcountry riding for a cork 7 or switch 9, i'm damn sure gonna film it. when i'm too old to fly high, i'll have hours and hours of priceless footy chillin with my friends, riding with my friends, and hopefully as much footy as them or more as i have of myself. i filmed pete, tried to push him, we rode tons and he just gonna talk shit behind my back now cause he hurt and i came up...but that just pushes me harder. my crew is hurt, no longer riding, or too broke to ride...if they still came and threw down, i'd be there every damn day. you can talk about setting rails up all you want...but man we did that, for years, we done with them rails...i'm trying to move forward. you kids gonna come up and try to bring some 2001 shit and call it some hot shit. i have no hate, i didn't start this shit talking, but i will end it if it don't stop here.

between this message and my last i tried  to kill myself. but someone saved me. since im still here i still ski. i entered snocomp and lost. a zero didn't take it. a stylie 3 , 5 , a sick switch up, and some bright ass clothes did take it. all the way back to mqt. bikerocker was nonexistant, like he always been. but im still skiing so that keeps me going. at  least i can sa y that.
