Who here does cross country?

so I ran my first xc race yesterday. It was 5k and I got 21 55. I'm not very happy with it, but it's my first time even though im a senior. Im looking for sub 20 in the next month hopefully. So post your times or whatever you want to say.

i cant take him[liam downey] seriously cuz his name reminds me of that downy bear from back when i was a kid -d loc

I don't deny there are bad things in the US right now, hell, 51% of the country to be exact. But god damnit, our country being fat is NOT a problem. I do't give a shit how fat people are. hell, fat kids are harder to kidnap, that means our country is safer.

a 4 minute mile is extremely good...considering the world record is like 3:45 or something...

I just joined my xc team this year. I've been to one practice, and we ran about 4ish miles. I didnt time it though. I've never done distance running, so this should be interesting.

thats not a 4 minute mile... 5k is roughly 3miles, so thats liek 7 minute per mile, which is still pretty good dude.

i ran long distance from grade 2 until the end of high school. once i stopped winning and placing well, though, it just wasn't fun anymore. i got very sick and tired of it.

but come on shadow...use your eyes. he ran 5k, not miles. it isn't even close to a 4 minute mile time.

im not sure my time...i finished 18 out of about 120 or so last year, the race was 6k

ok look im willing to bet no one on this site runs a fucking 4 minute mile...you gusy dont realize how quick that is...if you run a 4 minute mile your prob in the top 20 runners in the country maybe top 10

i think itmight put you in the top 40 or 50 sprinters, and you might be in the top 5 cross country runners, cause they dont deal so much with quick miles as sustained speed

um yeah, it's 3.1 miles, not 5 miles.

A bunch of kids at my school have mile times below 5 minutes, but i think the record at my school is like 4 20 - 4 30. the winning time for the jv race was like 16 something. So that was really good. One of our runners is like the top 3rd in the nation.

dude logan i run cross, your time isnt too bad for your first 5k. just keep training, shoot for below 20 by the end of the season

lets see, cross country starts tomorrow for me and my friends. we run 1mile warmup, about 3 miles inbetween (between 3-5) and then like a mile cooldown. me and my buddies don't do anything, so we basically suck. my 5k, worst was like 28 minutes (first freshman race) and my best was like 23 or something. its kinda like im fat, but im not at all. hahhah. i hate running.

I run track, but im more of a jumper/ hurdler, but a bunch of my friends do XC. They are all pretty sick, the best one of them ran a 16:04 5k as a junior in high school last year.

ahmed was really good from my school, but graduated like 2 years ago. he did like 15.30s or some shit.

sometimes, as i would run to the finish, or the last like quartermile, he would be running the course backwards as a cooldown. hahah.
