I just saw this thing on OLN about new school. It was filmed 2 years ago when everyone had the 1080s and they interviewed tanner. He said that the whole new school thing was about the money and the girls, what do u guys think?
To me newschools is progressing and evolving my jib/mountain skills not for the sport but for me, pushing the limits of what I can do and what I feel good doing, having fun, going hard, good mates, chillin and freeriding, YEAH!

yes we want to progress the sport b/c we love it if it gets us girls or not BUT girls even if not the main motivating factor is a motivating factor for almost anything and everything atleast somewhat.if i am thinkin about going big,a hot chick showing up isnt going to make me think well maybe i shouldn't
but yeah it is for the progression of the sport more so.
as for that show, that was great!they gave us more airtime than racing, almost the whole thing was newschool
For me It's all about fun and showing up those try hard snowboarders that think
they have the image but when the get to the park all the can pull is the sadest
atempt at an indy grab you have ever seen.
New Zealand is getting a super pipe next year YAY!!!!!
Yeah , I defenitly ski for the fun of it, but also to chalenge myself, try to go past my limits, and with newschool , it's easy to see the progress, when you start to own a trick, adding a 180, tweaking the grab, you just can't stop getting better. It's rare that I'm gonna say to myself at the top of a jump, fuck what's the point of doing this jump, anyway I'm just gonna do the same old thing again. But getting chicks is something I hope to do this year, Whistler is out to be a good place for that no? And dreaming of having one day a job that's basicaly skiing, that motivates me a lot too.
Its not about money for 99.9% of us jibbers. Well maybe it is, seeing as we pay for gear, lift tickets, trips, camp etc. Not many of us get paid for skiing.
For me Its just fun as hell, its a total release, whats more fun than going 15ft high and 40ft across a jump pulling a sweet crossed up 3 or a laid out backflip? I dont get paid, I dont dream of sponsors, its a fun sport to do.
* the feel of taking air and your stomach starts giggling
* you feel so satisfied when youīve stomped a trick ( especially when pretty chics are watching)
* the adrenalin rush you get when doing something dangerous.
* the incomparable feel of skiing powder!
* the rush of speed
not many sports have all that. many just have the feel of getting better ( like running 100m )
iīm prob gonna start skydiving! that must be such a maxed feeling, anyone done it?
Whatever you do, do not put your Newschoolers.com hoodie in the dryer!! They will shrink. Just hang them up and let them air dry.

newschool skiing is all about the feeling of flowing in the air and the great feeling of grinding when you know that a fall on the wrong side can throw you in a frezzing cold water

Yah what would the monkeys do if we wern't skiing? AHH THE HORROR! hahaha. Nah I ski because it is the only sport I know of were you can be totally relaxed and at peace, and then seconds later be through the roof full of adrenaline and heart pounding. And when you are on the mtn nothing off of it matters. You forget about everything except you, the snow, and the people there with you. That is why I ski. Gives you a feeling of innner peace almost I guess. Oh yah and sex and drugs are nice too. hehehe
i agree, everyone snowboards cause their dads made them ski till they were about 12-13, then they saw all these guys on the 'X-games' pull backflips in the big air contest. Then they all started to snowboard. But as for me, no. I've been skiing all my life and i will ski all my life!
Boring? The ski scene is a thrill a minute, controversies like no poles, afterbang, and tight pants keep me on the edge of my seat! Did Tanner wash his pants with cold water, or is he making a statement that will rock the skiing world? Is that a picture of John Symms after he broke his poles, or is he trying to start a upheval in the entire skiing community? Mundane details like those are what skiing is all about.
If death meant just leaving the stage long enough to change costume and come back as a new character...Would you slow down? Or speed up?
