Mainly about horcruxes.
well i understand how when you kill someone your soul splits and you can create a horcrux in an object.
Well i dont understand how you extract the soul from the horcrux to make voldemort rise to power again.(ex) I mean if they were all destroyed except for the cup how would voldemort rise up again?

Also in the first book how did Voldemort get on Professor Quarrels head? wouldnt quarrel have to be a horcrux? if so when harry destroyed quarrel/voldemort wouldnt that have destroyed one of the horcruxes?

Also what was voldemort doing for 15 years after he was defeated? why and how did he suddenly come back?

ok so he was regaining strength, so then each time he is destroyed (a horcrux) he should have to wait 15 years to regain energy and return right?

oh and in OOTP when Voldemort came back to the ministry of magic to fight, what body form was he in?

Not neccessarily, but that was the first time he was ever defeated. He was killed in his original body, so that took it really away from him. His horcruxes are just ways to transport his soul to another place and form, and give him more chances.

dude, when you destroy a horcrux, you destroy one fragment of his soul. He cant truly die untill all 7 pieces are destroyed, and even when that is done, you still have to kill him because he still has soul left in his body. So, destroy each piece, then kill him. Voldemort is invincible/immortal only when he has horcruxes. as far as i know, 2 or 3 have been destroyed already. The Ring, and the diary have been destroyed. So that leaves 5 for harry to destroy. So even if he destroys each horcrux, voldemort will still be a fuckin beast to destroy because he still has a brain and can still use wicked powerful spells. Add the fact that he can now touch harry into the mix, its gonna take a hell of a lot for harry to destroy him totally.

when harry and his parents managed to stop voldemort, they didnt actually kill him. They just stoped him and took away all of his power and physical form. The part of voldemort that was in quirls head, as I understand it, was the origional voldemort just greatly weakened.

ok so speaking of horcruxs (sp) what do you guys think of the idea that harry was made a horcrux when voldomort killed his parents at that explains why he didn't die and all his powers that he got from voldomort. so would this mean that harry has to kill himself in the end to detroy voldomort? it sets up a very nice matrydom for him

dude thats almost impossible because if harry was a horcrux, he would have to destroy himself. In doing that, there would be no one left to destroy voldemort. Harry is destined to kill him, and you can only kill him when all of his horcruxes are destroyed. Whats the sense in having harry be a horcrux when he cant kill voldemort after he kills himself. Do you think rons gonna do it? no.

while v's new body is is fathers, it looks like he used to, with the snake eyes and such. it describes it at the end of goblet of fire. the reason quirrel wasnt a horecrux (sp) was that he let voldemort possess him, to share his body so to speak. the destruction of the horecrux (sp) wasnt what made him weak and wandering for 15 years, it was the destruction of his human body, the Tom marvolo riddle body. the reason he was lost for 15 years is because none of his death eaters believed him to be alive so they didnt search for him. the reason they didnt know he was alive is because voldemort didnt tell them about the horecruxs (sp). remember when dumbledore told harry that lucius didnt know the true powers of Riddle's old diary, and that voldemort was angry at him for being so flippant with it? voldemort was only able to latch on to quirrel by the chance that he happened by the area voldemort was inhabiting at the time.

You guys are getting some details wrong. First off, their are 7 pieces of his soul, 6 of which are in horcruxes and the seventh is still in his body. The ring, the diary, and the one that RAB destroyed in the end of the 6th book have been destroyed. That means 3 are gone, 3 are left to find and destroy, and then kill voldemort.

In the ministry of magic at the end of book 5 Order of the Pheonix, Voldemort fights in his own true form...if you remember, he regained his body in the 4th book after taking harry's blood and wormtails arm etc.

dude, do you know how bad dumbledore could have destroyed those fucks? i think he did nothing because he was trying to protect harry, fuck being weak, albus dumbledore just doesnt get weak. snape is still on the good side. its obvious. he could have killed harry or tortured him soo easily. and snape pretty much had to kill dumbledore or he would have died because he made the unbreakable vow with narcissa. malfoy failed to kill dumbledore, so snape would have died if he didnt carry out the deed. he was caught in a hard situation. he had a look of horror because he knew he had to kill him but he did not want to. plus, snape had saved harry a ton of times throughout the series, im not ready to believe he is totally evil.

did anyone else notice how in this book dumbledore was always comenting on how intelligent he was. to me this didnt seem to me as how dumbledore acted in any of the earlier books, somthing odd is going on with dumbledore i think.

whoever said it brought up a very good point about snape...he was caught behind the proverbial rock and a hard place...had he not killed Dumbledore, he would have died from the vow, and the death eaters would have killed dumbledore anyway....it does the order no good to have both of them dead, now does it? Although this could be a possibility, I would still love to believe that snape is evil and have Harry kick his ass.

when it said that dumbledore was pleading with snape, i at first took it to mean that he was begging for his life, but the second time i read the book, i saw it as more of a begging to snape to do what he must do, because of the afore mentioned unbreakable vow. i think things in the office played out the way dumbledore wanted them to.

no tananka, theres not really any truth to that. people could discuss this shit for a long time cuz its so interesting. im gonna die cuz JKR is releasing book 7 in like,2 years. She hasnt even started writing it yet. I think in the next book everyone is gonna go on seperate missions, and so far i think the only people who know about the horcruxes are Harry, Ron, Hermione, and like, Regulus Black i cant wait for this next book.

well she has had the last chapter of the final book written for a long time, so maybe she just hasnt finished the rest of the books. I remeber reading on her website around the time book 2 was written. Some one asked her how many books there would be, and she said, as far as i know, 7, because i already have the last chapter marked down and its somewhere amongst the clutter in my house.

I don't see how the most "powerful" number helps at all. Obviously it's going to be easier to take out 7 horcruxes as opposed to 500. What if you just made random object horcruxes, like the ocean. How are they gonna destroy that one?

till then you just have to read each book 3 more times so that it will pass the 2 years time we have to wait to solve this mystery.i was wondering if a living person could be a horcrux, cuz that would explain why harry has the same traits as voldemort. see one of my other posts in this thread to see why this is impossible tho.

yea, harry wasnt going to b made a horcrux, voldemort was just gonna use the piece of his soul ripped off from killing him to make a horcrux. however, since voldemort was unable to kill harry, the spell drained his powers into harry
