XC Mountain Biking...

who does this, I want to get a good bike and I also want to start doing training to do some races... anybody have any advice?

I have a norco big foot. It's ok for dj, urban, light dh and xc. If your not racing i think you might as well buy a burly hardtail. I mean it just means you get more excercize over a shorter distance.

calskierX, shut the hell up please... go out and XC bike and I guarantee you, you wouldn't even make it up a hill and you would be panting like a fat kid running 10 miles!

I have no desire to^ PS. i swim 1500 yards a day and i ride my 40+ pound bike 3 miles to work and 3 miles back everyday so im prob in better shape than you can imagine so yeah Eat Shit

You can do DH during XC, unless I am mistaken. I have a 5 mile loop behind my house, and its hilly in places and then travels downhill for a solid couple of miles. And yes, I also go as fast as possible. I agree with whoever said get a hardtail, you don't need dual suspension.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
