okay, im a runner and usually whenever i go on my runs these days i end up getting severe stomach cramps, like on my abs. it usually happenes after 15 mins or so and there is nothing in my stomach because i usually go in the mornings before breakfest, i drink water before and after but they get so bad that i have to go to the point of walking. it is espically shitty when i get them in a race or track and field. i dunno i was just wondering if you guys had any ideas cause this is shitty for my performance. thanks guys!

don't drink any water before, that is what is giving you the cramps, never ever drink water less than 45 min before running. and wait till your heart rate comes down before drinking too much after.

yea if u drink water before running it will give u cramps. u ever been in like a soccer game and u drank alot of water when u were subbed off and u go back on and then u get crazy cramps? thats the same deal. also dont drink alot of apple juice it gives u the worst cramps ever

Girls get cramps before their periods...is there something you're not telling us?
i was about to say your having your period but when i play soccer i eat about 4-5 hours before it and dont drink water within 2 hours...i get bad cramps. after i start running and get subbed out i can drink tho and i dont get cramps

Have you tried just running through it? becuase stomach cramps, can be caused by a buildup of lactic acid, and the only way to change your lactic acid tolerance is to just push through. Like push through it to the point where you puke, and then keep going. But, befor you do that, I suggest not so much running, but just doing a jog and building on your aerobic stamania and lung capacity. Lactic acid doesnt start to build up unless there is a lack of oxygen getting to the area, and with more, but less intense training, you can improve your oxygen intake alot, so the cramps wont set in for longer.

yeah drinking no less than 1 hour before a run is the key, I ran a half marathon last sunday without a single problem and stopped drinking 1.5 hours before the start . And if you do have a cramp, try to run and stretch your arms down in front of you, run crouched in half basically.

drink a ton of water the day before you race, and try not to drink a ton the day of the race. still drink but not like you did the day before. you should piss clear the day before. i did this for one race i had that was soooo damn hot, i went to the bathroom like 8 times a day for the next 3 days. i downed 3 propels an hour....
