was wondering what my first post would be....so last night, freestyle night - kinked rail, second half i slip like an idiot, land badly and snap my collar bone!! :( anyone else do this, how long does it take!?
im just coming out of a broken collarbone. i did it 8 weeks ago playin frisbee(yea i know, i was decked though). i was pretty much doin everything at about 6 weeks. you wont be able to do anything at all for at least 3 weeks. then you'll have good movement, but no lifting ability on that side/arm until like week 5. good luck, its a bitch. make sure you wear the sling the full 6 or else people wont know you're injured, and punch you in the arm and trust me. thats not good
Turtle: Look at you Mr. Beg for pussy on promnight.
Eric: Yea Turtle, I was begging my girlfriend, you were begging a 40 dollar hooker who declined your mother's credit card.-Entourage
broke mine in december at stratton and couldnt do ANYTHING for a month it took about 4 month to heal to 100% mine was a 10 on the bad scale though and has a huge bump on it now made me miss everyy comp too
Definitely wear your sling too. People won't notice and punch you in the arm and gay shit like that and it won't be good. Be really careful about moving it, keep it tight and it should set well. The better it sets, the faster and stronger it heals, so keep that in mind.

i broke my collar bone in january this year being a dumbass hitting a jump way to fast n the jump was way to gnarly for the conditions, yea landed on my collar n fucked it bigtime, i couldnt get back on my skis the rest of the season, bummer man i feel bad for you, but uve got it better than i did, i broke my left collar bone and my right wrist haha, yea i was fucked up, keep all ur shit on, it took me 10 weeks before they even let me take off my butterfly sling deal, and 5 months later i still cant lift over 50 lbs or do any type of benchpressing, so i guess it depends on how bad u broke it, eat chicken bones and suck the marrow out, its VERY rich in red blood cells calcium and a few other things, it'll help u heal up in no-time, i wish i woulda known that tip earlier
if you stacked hard on your shoulder, youre lucky you broke your collarbone, the other option is a dislocated shoulder, that fucks you up.
a friend of mine broke his collarbone playing football. he went up for a mark & came down really hard. it was ugly, big freaky bump coming out of his shoulder.
if I ever see Shane McConkey, I'm going to point at his skis and go 'Dude, they look like waterskis!' just to keep the trend going.
