a guy whos primarily big mountain, but throws himself off huge cliffs and then decides he wants to throw a misty 7 or laid out backflip off that cliff next time

Please dont compare 540's off a cliff on a snowboard to 540's off a cliff on skis ever again, they are landing facing the other direction, not backwards. Have any of you that talk shit on landing on your ass ever even hit a big cliff? Maybe you dont know this but depending on the steepness of the landing you cant always stomp it, if you lean forward your gonna roll and eat shit (prolly one of your knees aswell) sometimes. I love how so many people who can't/havn't skied big mountain just love to add their two cents into everything on this site and critisize, when you are as good as Seth or have even skiied a compareable line, hit compareable cliffs, and done compareable tricks on them, then you can feel free to talk shit.

I know lots of pros post here, and read this shit, but before you were just arguing how no other pro skier OR snowboarder could ski as good as Seth, and now you are saying you can ski as good as him yourself...

I'm saying you can't cut on how someone skis unless you are better than them at that aspect. I'm not incinuating I'm on the same planet as Seth. Having lots of style and grace is tough on big untracked unpredictable mountains in Alaska, this isnt exactly a perfectly groomed and maintained jump in the park. Have you ever tried even spinning 3's off cliffs? Its not easy to make it look good, the takeoffs are grabby and it's just akward to spot

I'm not trying to be a dick here, I just think Seth deserves respect for being one of the first skiers to take newschool to big mountains. I dont see any park rats bringing their "mad steeze" into the big mountain scene, why? Because its difficult. Even tanner hall who is a real smooth skiier could barely even ski big mountain lines in Wski. Most of the time you're tricking off a big mountain feature it's your first time hitting it and you have to guess what its gonna be like, its not hitting the same feature over and over in perfect conditions so you can "perfect" your tricks on it over and over. I dunno this arguement is silly, comparing two different sports is like comparing apples to oranges.

The cliffs snowboarders do are all set up and are sessioned all day. The ones seth do are him hitting a line that 1 to 2 or maybe even zero have ever hit before. He doesn't know if rocks are under there. He charges and throws the sickest shit of huge cliffs. Look at Tanner, a lot of the cliffs he does are set up that is why he throws down switch 5's off them. Stick any snowboarder in a line seth does and no one could compare to how hard he charges and the stuff he does.

and as far as this thread goes, its gotten pretty pointless. truth of the matter is, what seth does, snowboarders cant really do. im only a snowboarder and ill admit that we cant do this stuff. when i see seth ski, its crazy, yes, but then again, it would almost be physically impossible for us to do some of the things skiers can do. this is because our feet are always the same width apart, and its alot harder to set up for big cliffs like that when you always have to be on edge, whereas skiers can be flatbase for long periods of time. also, we gotta land pretty much perfectly to ride away, and skiers can land backseat, on their side, etc..and still get away with it, and its reall hard for us to absorb that much impact riding sideways and always on the same plain

Yah, I think guys like Tanner and C.R. need to stay in the park. That bullshit "steeze style" anywhere is lame, but when you use it skiing big mountain it's too overkill. You're actually skiing now when you are on a big mountain. Cut the Steeze shit, for now. The park kids are embarking on a discipline of skiing that they have no expertise in. They got their name out there whilst in the park, so stay in there. You don't see Seth go in the park and try to be considered an "all-around skier" He already is one because he knows the fundametals of how to ski. The guy has "the touch."
Forcing your style is out of the question.
you are being someone you aren't. I wouldn't say Morrison is just bringing park skiing to big mountain. He is bringing every skier to the big mountain.

Jeremy Jones is the only guy you could really compare. And even then he's nowhere near where Seth was as far as cliffs go. But they are both burly riders, and are getting old, and like similiar lines.

I thought Tanner sucked at skiing lines, but I thought CR was pretty good in the stuff I saw of him. An Eastern Euro trip with Pollard if I remember right?

I think C.R is fairly respectable at big mountain and I'm under the impression he actually skis with Seth latley. But as far as hard charging goes you gotta give it up to Nobis and Harrison, those guys fucking get after it

Seth is definately in his own world, although now a few other skiiers are accompanying him there. But terje definately has some impressive lines, especialy in pillows some of the stuff he can do on quick consecutive drops is just insane.
