How do i open a DAT file

notepad wont work. a special programming program is used to make those files. what do u need to open a dat file for? u tryin to hack? u hax0r

no its a movie
i downloaded a movie and it was cue so i opened that with demean tools and now there is a DAT file i the cue file that i need to open if that made any scense

are u sure its a movie and not just titled a movie? because if u look in most folders were u intall computr games or other things theres always DAT files.

that .dat file is 800 mb or there is a .dat file within it?

if it's just a small .dat file, DO open it with notepad. otherwise... not really sure.

.dat isn't really a "real" filetype. Some programs recognize it, but basically it's just a data file that can be opened in Notepad. Like someone else said... it's it really an 800MB FILE??

well, either you downloaded a fake movie, used to get someone's share ratio up, or, try changing the file extension to different movie types. I bet it is the first one though...
