Alright, so I was watching the discovery channel, and they have some show coming up later in june or something about who the greatest american. So it gave me the idea for this thread.

Who is the greatest american?

I would have to say abraham lincoln, ronald reagan, george washington, and some other guys. I really can't think now, so this list isn't final. Once yall start throwing up names, I will add to the list.

i cant take him[liam downey] seriously cuz his name reminds me of that downy bear from back when i was a kid -d loc

Imagine the ns outcry if u(lateralis) were banned. There would be countless threads and petitions to bring u back, it would be like when treadway got banned from whistler. Someone would probably make and sell 'Free Lateralis' stickers and shit. -j

I'm looking through the list the have of nomines for the show, and I noticed that it's complete and utter bullshit. George H Bush, his wife, George W Bush, his wife, Condolezza Rice, Bill Clinton, His wife, Sam Walton (aka the devil who started walmart), and pat tillman are nominees.

it makes me sick to think that these people are considered some of the best americans.

I wouldn't say reagan is THE greatest american, but he was still great. the resaon I put him there is how he basically stoppped the cold war, did a lot for the destruction of the brlin wall, and had a pretty good economy. I don't want to debate about this on this thread, so if you want to start another thread. Also the first 3 people I put up weren't in any order, just a list of names.

I don't know why people are putting that any of the Bush's are the greatest american. George W. is alright(I disagree with a ton of stuff side from the war), but abe lincoln, MLK, and the for fathers are mcuh better in my opinion.

there's the link. They didn't do any research for the list, as they have 90% of the people on there are just famous and haven't don jack shit.

Others I laugh at are John Edwards, Tom Cruise, and ellan digernerous. In fact, I think the whole list is bullshit.

I'm happy tos ee that they have a few deserving people, salk, Edison, people who actually DID something that has changed the world.

I would say all of the founding brothers are extremely significant- Adams, Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, and Madison. If I had to choose one, I would say Jefferson because he was instrumental in organizing the internal compromises that led to the founding of the nation.
