Running=not a sport

running is not a sport. like all other means of transportation such as biking, swimming, walking and racing cars, it is not a sport. my friends and i have determined that it is 1/3 of a sport. this is becuase its a component of most sports but its the easiest half. swimming is not a sport becuase u do it to stay alive. biking is only a sport when lance armstrong is in the race. racing cars, nascar? cmon. ok now im just rambling

well it looks like we've heard from the runners. and Apple, yes u are correct i basically decide if its a sport based on how interesting it is to me, among other things. im sure u definition disproved my thread but i didnt read it becase it was too long and knew it would disprove my theory.
also skier-jules, biking is a sport idk y i said it isnt i got carried away with my means of trasportation thing. aight peace

i guess skiing isn't a sport if running's not. I mean, you don't have to be in any athletic shape, comparable to golf. My dad skis, and he's 53 and out of shape. I guess that mean's skiings a hobby or activity, but not a sport.

Running, skiing, and golfing are all sports. They require energy, and according to the definition, all qualify

^ you can't make up the definition of the word sport. or else it would vary between every person. and what confusion that would cause. if everybody had a separate definition for every word out there, it would be nuts, so that's why we don't do that.

look up sport in the dictionary, that's the way we decided to define it, that's how it is, and will always be, so just shut up and let it go..

^haha dude i just dont like running, i think the only use for it is getting someplace faster or training for a real sport. i dont like runners i think they waste their time, and thats why i started this thread.

fine dumbass, so then skiing isnt a sport because you have to do it to get to the bottom of the mountain alive right? just like how swimming isn't a sport because you need to do it so you dont die.

running is a sport when its put on a competitive level, i agree it is transportation when its not tho.

running is most certaintly not a sport it is a past time or hobby. Some people collect stamps some people suck dick and some run. It does not matter how hard it is, math is hard for me that does not make it a sport. It does not matter if reguires physcial exertion, so does walking up and down the stairs that does not make that a sport. basically all of you that think running is a sport your wrong fuck you, you suck at life.

no swimming is certaintly not a sport, as you said it is a means of transportation and it is done to survive. I having swam for 4 years have the experimence to say that floating in a cespool in a speedo is not a sport. All you do is flail your appendages and you move. It requires no skill what so ever. You float in water and swim down and back down and back. Water is meant for consumption not for hobbies. I did swim but i saw the error of my ways and decided to quit and take up a real sport, skiing

of course track and xc both have rules, what are you retarded? If the sport doesnt have rules, how are athletes disqualified from time to time? You make no sense.
