Heart Rate

What's your heart rate right now?

I've been resting, and mines at 64bpm at the moment...

Those of you who don't know how to check, I find the best way is to find your pulse and count the number of beats in 15 seconds, then multiply that by four.

when i gave blood a few months ago it was 52. and my bolivian friend has gigantic lungs and extra hemoglobin and things like that because of bolivia's high elevation... he was around 35-40 i think.

My resting heart rate is 80 and yet I can smoke the shit out of pretty well anyone running. In my last year of highschool, you could pick whatever distance (up to 7.5km, cuz that's the farthest anyone ever ran, so I can't be sure of any longer distance) and I would be the best in the school. Heck you could throw hurdles in and I'd still win.

yeah, same here dude. which means 1 of 3 things...

1. NS is full of complete bullshitters
2. NS is full of idiots that don't know how to calculate heart rate
3. NS is full of people that are in really really ridiculously good shape.

personally, i think it's probably 60% #2, 30% #1, and 10% #3.

It doesn't matter where you take it from, all of your arteries are connected to the heart and therefore recieve a pulse at EXACTLY the same rate.

If you take your heart rate for 30 seconds you have to multiply by 2.

Your heart rate is 72 and Tyler Hamiltons is 58.

The most elite marathon runners in the world have Hr's between 35 and 45. None of you have a resting heart rate that low, NONE! Because you are all a bunch of lazy fucks who spend all of their time sitting in front of a computer not running marathons. STOP LYING! Your HR's are between 60 and 80! Don't even bother posting anything lower than 55, you did it wrong.

bingo, mines only as low as it is because i'm been in peak physical shape all my life. i'm a cross country runner, i cycle in the summer, i freaking swam in the jeux du quebec (national swim team) for like 8 years.
