^ they are lighter and made specificaly for women and cater to how women move on the snow. this will be the 1st year ill be on womens skiis, all the other skiis i have are large mens skiis

"how women move on the snow" what? skiing is skiing girls i know turn and shift their weight like i do when they ski, they just weigh less and always want a soft ski. I see Womens skis as a marketing gimick not a nesesity. now things like boots i do see a need because womens feet are different. all i say to girls i just to find a soft ski they like who cares if it says its just for women, i know my skis don't say just for men on them. you just have to step up your ability and push yourself if you want a differnt ski maybe.

actually, a womans centre of gravity is lower because of their hips. because of their different body geometry, factors like flex patterns and where the centre of the sidecut is placedon the ski can make a lot of difference.

hmm lower center of gravity? are you sure? i mean only reason i could see that beein is if a girls legs where Proportenatly smaller to the body then a males thus placing the hips lower but i don't think this hold true for every woman. Also if this is true why the hell don't we see more Women Sumo wrestlers? that all about keeping your center of gravity low.

and after looking it up i found womens legs and femer tend to run longer so maybe a high center of gravity. ah anyways flex is just a riders pref so whatever. if a woman wants to spend more on a ski just because it says womens on it be my guest.

actually my celebs were cheaper then my motherships.. and most the time the skis price is pretty close

Yes, there are differences, and many women may prefer a lighter, softer ski. But it being lighter and softer doesn't necessarily make it "women's"... 1260s relative to most skis have the characteristics of a "women's ski".

dude chill. i think it's a good idea. take the line shadows vs the chronic. now my gf wants these for next year. they have a lighter, softer core (poplar or fir or something, as compared to maple in the chronics). she's not big enough to be really good on the chronics. now she can have a good performing ski that fits her abilities. plus the graphics are more female oriented, and i know graphics dont make a diff in performance, but nobody is gonna buy a pair of skis they think look like shit. graphics play a role no matter how core people say they are

ps skogenchick if your complaining that your moships aren't enough of a ski for you then why would you go with a softer lighter ski like the clebs?

celebs retail for like 600, but sell for 429 on proctorjones.

also, chronic retails for 550, sells for 379
shadow retails for 400, sells for 329

so you can see, womens skis are not more expensive

i got my motherships 2 years ago on ebay for like 300 in the plastic, i just bought the celebs for 275 brand new, through a friend. i got the womens ski bc i wanted another pair of powder skiis, but a better all around ski bc i didnt like my fujitives because w/ my bindings they were really to heavy for a girl like me. plus the celeb graphics are really good

k so the celebs run about the same RETAIL as the moships flite's.... really doesn't matter what deal you got it the MSRP that you want to look at here. also ^ your an inch taller and 5lbs less then me so what is this heavy fugative thing your trying to say, i ride moship ti's with P14 and that is a heavy ski. if you want a better ride all mt a stiffer heaver ski is more what you want compaired to a light soft ski, unless its your park ski.

You're probably more experienced and have stronger legs. It's not really that much of a stretch. Although fujatives = heavy seems a bit odd to me too. I don't see how Celebs could be that much lighter.

haha reactor eh? thats why they are "heavy" but that is still a really light ski over all you don't know what a heavy ski is if you think that heavy. i know moships weight way more , also so

while all of this is true about a women's center of gravity, most womens twin tips are the exact same as mens, just softer. some of the higher end carving skis for women on the market actually reflect the diff mounting points and such i believe
