shitty just like everywhere else on the mountain. Buy some looks/rossis I would not trust those pieces of shit going off any sized cliff.

And oh what extensive testing he conducted to come to that conclusion, they are fine in powder and most cliffs for most people. Alot of people hate on the reactors on here, most of those people either have no idea what they are talking about, have not riden them, or are burly motherfukers who could butter with 2x4's. In reality reactors are fine for about 90% of the newschool skiing population, and the only thing against them for powder would be the lift that the binding gives you.

Well its just that you don't need it, because it doesn't really help you at all so it just takes away from stability without giving you anything but some added leverage to some edges that aren't doing anything.

And don't get me wrong im not saying having lift ruins a pair of bindings for powder, its just not doing anything positive for you.

reactors worked well in powder the put u up a bit higher and u kinda feel like youhave more grip on the snow! so i liked them ne ways

Upon reading your post again, ill let that slide. But lift still has no positive effect on skiing powder (im talking powder not crud/mixed/packed whatever). The only time i would say the lift would be desired would be on a demo binding that allows you to change boot center to find out where you like to ride a ski. Which the reactors can do, and it is helpful.

Well, considering how wide my powder skis tend to be, having lifters on them, on the whole, doesn't hurt.

If you take your powder ski (jps?) Mount them with a demo binder of some sort with ~6mm of lift, ski them in powder all day i guarantee you will think the lifter has no effect on your powder skiing. If you mount them the next day with a pair of jibs or something with no lift, i guarantee you will notice less hookup in the pow.

Its a small difference but it definately is there. Any effect that you think the lifter has on turning in powder, is non existant. Its not so much a big deal with the alpine binding lifters, but once you get into plates and touring stuff the differences can be seen more and more to have a negative effect, for powder,and park.

don't get that, NAXO backcountry binders, or Damir Freeride, these were made specificly for the BC, but if you HAVE to have a reg binder, then look/rossi is the way. Look at dan treadway man, that is what he uses.

Those bindings were made for alpine touring, which yes is backcountry, a different aspect of it. But they are by no means ideal for the decent or dropping cliffs.

I meant that I tend to ski my fatties everywhere, not just in waist-deep, and the lifters don't really tend to hurt my pow skiing as far as I can tell... I don't really notice them at all. so I don't see why I wouldn't want to have them, since they help the ski turn in other conditions.

I rode the Prophet 100's with Reactor 12's on multiple 3 foot powder days at Whistler and I was extremely satisfied with how they skiied.

nope, ive done it man, does not matter, i have used NAXO in the park, and they hold up pretty good, the Damir Freerides were made to specificly that.

The naxos AND freerides were both built for alpine touring, as i said in my first post. Neither of them were built to be able to hold up to the beating that park riding will put on them, or even freeriding. Yes its true the freerides were built to be able to withstand the beating beter, but they will still explode when most alpine bindings would stomp.

And no i don't know everything but unlike some of the posts i have seen you have (to the above poster), atleast i have a decent idea of both the tech behind things and how they actualy perform, and when I don't I don't post meaningless shit.

i really dont know where and why people are breaking reactors all over the place...ive had mine for a few months now...have ridden them pretty hard...and the only problems i have faced are that i have to keep on tightening the bindings into the skis and that the brakes bent when i ejected landing switch...but that happens to a lot of other bindings. i think the reactors are decent in pow as long as you dont eject and have to scrape off all the snow on your boot

some people just get unlucky with the reactors but they still kick ass. and plus, next year they are much stronger so they wont be breaking

bindings can feel differently to certain ppl....pending how you ski...like how much of your weight you shift forward or backwards and wat edge you use, maybe thats how i describe it feels when i ski
