use an equasion to figure out the speed needed to clear a certain distance with a set takeoff angle. the equasion is D= (v2/32)2(sin(A)). that reads distance (d) equals takeoff velocity (v) squared divided by thirty two times the sine of your takeoff angle (A) times two. this asumes the takeoff angle is the same as the landing angle. this is given in feet per second. i used it today to figure out that i was going between 55-45 ft/sec to clear the 60 footer at pc. hope that helps
