Living in NZ cheap

I want to travel to NZ for your winter my summer, but I need to do it cheap, plus I ll need to work but I will have no working visa. Any suggestions or thoughts of how to go about this? I need to ski and I m trying to find creative ways to support my addiction.

Im coming from eastern Canada. I really want to have another winter but I dont know anyone out there, have low funds and no job lined up. Anyone have a job/place for a nice Canadian? I can teach you everything about being Canadian ;)

Just go there, live at a backpackers for like a week or two while you find a place to live, and go around to all the bars, pubs, shops etc and ask for work.
Easy.

i live in New Zealand and i currently own, half a packet of rice, a bag of onions and a jar of peanut butter. you can do it cheaply.
