Tips on relocating out west
well after i graduate (college) i'm gonna move out west and just work a season at a ski town somewhere. im looking for tips on doing this and what are some good places to go. i just took trips to jackson hole and telluride this year, and both of those places are insanely badass. telluride's got a cooler town, and jackson's got better terraign. i'm just trying to find a good combo of park and big mtn/cliffs. any suggestions?

move to utah, and live in PC, you have to drive to ride good terrain, but the park is epic, and i have been hearing rumors about a pipe with22 ft walls. plus the town is fun. living in jackson sucks. also salt lake isn't too far so you can go to a large town if needed.

I would try cedar city utah, brian head is a sick mountain terrain, and has one of the best parks in the country
^hahaha good one. Mammoth or Squaw Valley would be fine choices. Tahoe has the added bonus of women, and to go surfing is a mere three hours.
SLC was just ranked as like the seventh most depressing citys in america.
move to whistler canada, you can ski like 8 months

^Very hard to get a job though, if you're American.
I'd second the Utah recommendation... there's just so many mountains to ski there. Although Tahoe, Jackson, and just about anywhere in Colorado are all good picks, too.

It's only after you've lost everything that we are free to do anything.
Ski Every Day
1.Drive to Tahoe.
2. buy every local newspaper and sign up for the
3. Move into a sick house at squaw or alpine meadows
that has people looking for a roomate. (should be
between $400 and $600 per month)
4.Get a job parking cars at a nice casino
5. ride everyday in the winter and drink at the lake in
the sun in the summer.
Tahoe rocks.....can't beat 300 days of sun over 800'' of snow this year
tahoe or mammoth sounds like the best deal to me

SLC Utah has everything... and the best terrain/snow you'll find. but....Mormons are included in the everything. that sucks.

SLC for sure. you wont find cheaper living with skiing so close, i pay 135 a month, maybe 200 with utilities, and have 7 mountains to choose from all within 30 minutes. pc's park is one of the best in the country, and not much tops little and big cottonwood's terrain and snowfall.
the whole mormon thing isnt bad. if you're skeptical of them, live in park city, but slc isnt bad at all
breck and aspen for colo

Colorado is the one of the worst places for consistancy. Ya, they had an alright year, but even with great snowfall you can still have a shitty base. The parks are good, but you are kinda gettin' past your prime; landing on solid ice for 100+ days aint dat good for the ol' frame.
Tahoe is probably the best overall selection: good base, incredible terrain, great backcountry, and the girls let it go inside the proper hole and not the butt like SLC.
^i agree, but i grew up and learned how to ski at bachelor and took trips to hood every now and then, havent been there in a while since i live in PA now but its definatley an awsome place
At Baker we hold the world record (1,140inches) for snow fall in a season..... we also average something like +700inches a year. but glacier isn't the most happening town.
is the cost of living low in SLC?
