Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...BURNEY BASIN / EASTERN SHASTA COUNTY- WEST SLOPE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA-WESTERN PLUMAS COUNTY/LASSEN PARK- 843 AM PDT FRI APR 8 2005
... SNOW ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

NOAA'S NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SACRAMENTO, CA HAS ISSUED A SNOW ADVISORY.

MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE AFTERNOON HOURS BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS DURING THE EVENING. UP TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. SNOW LEVELS HAVE LOWERED TO 1500 TO 2500 FEET IN EASTERN SHASTA COUNTY AND 2000 TO 3000 FEET ALONG THE WEST SLOPES OF THE NORTHERN SIERRA NEVADA MOUNTAINS. STRONG WINDS GUSTS COULD CREATE AREAS OF REDUCED VISIBILITY IN BLOWING SNOW OVER HIGHER MOUNTAIN PASSES. CHECK ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE DEPARTING.

it's pretty cold; noon temp up at mammoth's summit says 13. another foot or so. I think spring and winter got reversed this year. it was pretty warm all of february and into march. april's been cold and snowy. go figure

well, so far, for the past month ive been going up there, i want to hit this one flat up flat rail thing. And for the past month, it snows so much the night before that i cant hit it. rough life eh

who fucking cares, all the ski area's are greedy son's of bitchs in california and will close mid april no matter how much snow they have. Sierra at tahoe is closing on the 18 and they still have over a 100 inch base.
